Here is a link to this really neat WWII PC game that is coming out www.1944d-day.com/ ;It has 3D bodies( you can look down and see your feet and the rest of your body) To check your ammo you have to look inside your catridge belt and count. It is so realistic. I am going to buy it when it comes out. It does not strive to tell the story of a unit or one sqaud. Instead it tells the story of a battle. The game at its core is driven by a highly adaptable AI System, this AI system controls over 250,000 units in real time.

RTS=Real Times Strategy, games like Age of Empires, Starcraft, Company of Heroes, Rise of Nations, etc
FPS=First Person Shooter, games such as Halo, Half Life, Goldeneye...w00t N64. ;D

Is this on a CD like Battlefield 1942, or is it a subscription game like Aces High or WWII Online?

It won't be as good as 1944 D-Day. It will be realistic but just like all the other singleplay campaign style games.

Yes a beautiful game, but the development still needed is still years ahead.

So? Anything that has that much detail and effort put into it is worth waiting for.

If it was from an actual company that gets paid and has support. they may get donations but by the time they even have a thought of a date there will be something else.

No there won't be a game as good as this at least I don't think so. I have thought of a game like this for years. I don't understand why Call of Duty and MOH hasn't put these things in there games. But the one thing they will never have is the BF2 Style game play which D-Day 1944 has. MOH and COD have the singleplay campaign one road style, that won't change for a good while.

I've heard the same bs about this game as I did 2 years ago, it'll never release. If you're looking for a great game thats similar but no boundries, check out WW2 Online. That games amazing.

I heard about this game in 2004 and even then people were saying that it was old news and never gonna come out. It's a waste of time.

Well guys im sorry to inform some of you but it seems that this game may slowly progressing towards completion. I've been watching it for several months and if you would consider hopping back onto their site you might see that progress is being made and that an announcement possibly regarding release will be made within this month. I also encourage those who are willing to have some faith in this game to hop over to www.moddb.com/games/5041/1944-d-day and consider voting for it for top unreleased indie game. Keep on the lookout for some video footage from the game soon as well, currently a video flyover of the map is in the works and the team is apparently upping the funding for the game to fuel development.
