I thought there was a Blitzkrieg thread somewhere in here...oh well.
I believe the original is definitely the best and most fun of this RTS series. The game is great to play online as well. People are always creating custom maps. The possibilities with the map editor are endless, although I've never delved into using it myself.
One thing I always liked about the game is that there is a HUGE variety of American, British, German, and Soviet units available. It really makes for some interesting gameplay. Building defensive positions while utilizing this selection (Tanks, armored cars, Anti tank guns, self propelled AT guns, infantry trenches, giant minefields) is particluarly enjoyable. The artillery in this game is also an essential element. It plays a huge role, especially in the campaign.
Overall, I highly recommend it to any WW2 game enthusiast!

I agree, the first one is an awesome game, I really enjoyed the replay-ability also.
I played the 2nd one, but it so dang hard I stopped. <_<

Aww man, I LOVE THIS GAME. Your right the orginal was the best, but the others were still fun. Ill tell you the thing that made this game the best was that the tanks knew how to back up. I always would talk to my friends about how that made the game so great because the tanks driving ai made it easy to move the units. It would be a lot of fun if we could play one night too.

I do agree that this is probably one of the best games out there. And most things can blow up ;D so nobody is safe if you have artillery. It is at the top of my list for favorite games of all time next to Axis and Allies (the board game).
