Hello everybody! My name is Todd, and I am interested in assembling a WWII impression for airsoft and (eventually) re enacting uses. I need to ask a few question to my family, because I've been told that my great uncle was KIA on Omaha beach on D-Day, but I don't know what unit he was in. I hope to purchase one of those new G&G M1 Garands sometime in the future and resemble a member in the unit he served in. I have plenty of questions on how to wear the uniform, what to carry and things of that nature.

Yep, doing an infantry impression. I am thinking about joining my buddy in doing a 2nd ranger impression. I'm thinking about getting an assault vest, just to be awesome. Though, I have some questions about the vest and what else needs to be carried.

I'm currently in Georgia, but soon I'll be in Alaska. After that, who knows. I've enlisted in the Army, and after I finish my senior year in high-school, I'll be shipped out to BCT.

I stuka, for those that may not know it means dive bomber in german and they obviously had them in the luftwaffe(however you spell it).
I originally came to ww2 because of battlefield 1942,yes i game but i have also read many articles about ww2 so i'm not just whats in the game is all I know.
I live about an hour north of Miami, Florida
Came to airsoft 2-3 years ago i suppose and I always wanted to do ww2 airsoft but I haven't really been able to until recently with all the new guns and hype for it.
I have an ICS M3 (For those that care about my other non ww2 weapons I have a KA 9" LaRue and a Tokyo Marui G-Spec vsr-10 which I got I suppose it would be third hand)
I have a tendency to charge and since I'm not exactly fast it doesn't always work
My plan is to finish my first kit which is kinda based around the M3 so it would be about 1943-1944 US Euro campaign kit(the gun is really the only ww2 item lol,got surplus od's but i think they're pry from nam or sooner)
My future kits include(In order) US Paratrooper, Russian grunt, Pacific theater Marine, and last a Japanese kit(last because I hope by then there will be more Japanese weapons that are more affordable)
Bayonets, I like, I want, as soon as the G&G m1 comes out I'll be getting a rubber bayonet and charging the other team pry every chance I get.
I believe fear is a powerful weapon, make them think you got the upper hand and you have already won.
I am not a neo-nazi, I use stuka as an alias on runescape(well used to) and it just stuck with me.
Not sure what the rules are on politics and Religion but I think this is enough.
*edit I also like firing real weapons and don't like "just for show" weapons, my policy is 'If it doesn't work, don't get it'. Also sorry for weird format, I was trying to separate each section.

Welcome stuka! nice to see a fresh face around here! If you need any help with your ETO GI kit and can't find any current posts on it, dont hesitate to ask. Or you could always post a picture and description of your current kit on the "Im working on it" thread under Period Impressions and recruiting. hope this helps, and welcome!

I am the honcho over at OPSEC Airsoft and SoCal Airsoft even though I have relocated across the country for business. The WW2 bug has bit and I'm doing my homework to build a proper US or Brit kit. Initially I thought I wanted to do German, but I'm finding myself more into the Allied kit. Anyway, enough rambling. Hope to meet some of you on the field soon.

Hello, my name is Sean. I'm 23, live in Chicago, and have been playing airsoft since March 2011. I'm currently an applicant for one of the teams in the Chicago Airsoft Association. I've been interested in WWII since I was a kid and was very excited to see there is a reenactment community among airsofters.
I'm currently working on my first impression (Wermacht Infantry). It's nearing completion and I plan on attending Stalingrad III in January with a few buddies. Hoping to have some gear-related questions answered by the more experienced reenactors at the game. Looking forward to the upcoming season!

Hi, my name's Austin, I'm 19 and live in Virginia Beach. I've been playing airsoft for 5 years, and I've always wanted to make a U.S. Infantry D-Day impression. And then recently I watched the series The Pacific and immediately wanted to make a marine impression. In my mind it seemed like the perfect excuse to start ww2 airsoft even though I'm pretty clueless in regards to what was actually worn ;D. But from what I've seen so far on the site you guys have a wealth of knowledge here. I hope to see you on the field soon.

Hello all! I haven't been on here in a while and when I was, I didn't post often. I figured I'd re-introduce myself, My name is Jake, I'm 22 and I live in Pa. I work at a factory that made Stuart tanks during WW2 it cranked out about 5000 of them, now we make tractor trailers there, I'm a welder. My main impression is Luftwaffe Field Division just because I like the oddball mix of uniform and equipment that happened when they got absorbed by the HEER in 1943. I'm slowly getting into American Reenacting with the purchase of the amazingly awesome BAR. So far I have a Bar98 (in no small part inspired by the Sgt Tom builds and various others) a Walther P38 Co2, a custom 1928 Thompson i built for fun and the new BAR. I also do a Vietnam grunt impression and some various merc and post apocalyptic stuff just to justify all the gear i have ;D Thanks for bothering to read and i hope to contribute what i can to the WW2AA community.

Hey All, I'm Certainly not new here, but feel a reintroduction is in order. I originally was a member here back in '08 but in 2009 started to get out of Airsoft. I've really regretted selling them off, but my passion for World War II never faded. Actually, it grew in the form of real steel counterparts to the airsoft guns of my youth. I'm from Terre Haute, IN and still live there today. As it stands today, I'm a freshman in college, studying Business Administration and History with a focus in US History. I'm wanting to get back into the WWII airsofting scene, as I've done a bit of re-enacting as 1st Cav for Vietnam. Thanks for reading, and hope to get to know everyone again! (And I promise, I'm no longer a 15 year old, so hopefully I'm more tolerable to talk to )

Frankly, you're probably about the same size as an average US infantryman now. I'm 14, and I'm 5'7", 120 lbs, and I'm average in height for a US paratrooper. I say get started on it now, it'll be more fun that way. Welcome to the boards though!

Welcome to the board, don't worry about your age. I've been to a few events with 14-16yr olds. People were smaller back then, not freakishly small but noticeably. Have you ever sat in the driver's seat in a tank? I'm way to big, I cannot close the hatch because I'm to tall and I'm around 5'11".

The average chest size of a US Infantryman in 1941 when we entered the war was 34. By the end of the war it was 38. This is why most actual surplus uniform items tend to be so small. the Average shoe size throughout the war was a size 9. Things in the US have changed quite a bit since then. Three meals a day with lots of snacking and not much exercise. Perhaps something in the milk with regard to our larger feet? In many ways younger player reflect a far more authentic look but be careful with your purchases if you are young because you will grow out of them. If possible buy actual clothing items while they fit. they will retain their value and may even go up in value. You can then replace them with reproduction items that fit.

Well that certainly explains a lot 2nd Bat: half of the uniforms ive run into are my size. Never thought having a small family would pay off!

My father was a Ww2 veteram who enlisted in the National Guard just before the war. He said that coming from a family of 13 kids his issued uniforms were the first items of new clothing he ever received it was the first time in his life he got three legitimate meals in a day and slept in a bunk by himself. things have definitely changed since those days. He also said he had never been in a house with inside toilets and heating other then a fireplace or stove and had never seen an actual elevator. Planes were something you ran outside and stared at in wonder. Growing up I always thought he was kidding about such things but now know they were true in his case.
The Dust Bowl and Depression meant folks didn't eat well and life was hard. in many ways it steeled our citizenry in a way that frankly prepared them for the hardships of WW2. My dad having grown up on a ranch in Colorado knew how to fix just about anything and never could bring himself to squander or waste anything. This ability to jury rig just about anything was an attribute of the American Army that served them well.
The fact that so many Americans were outdoorsmen and hunters also contributed to our success.
It is great to see so many new members joining the forum lately and hopefully it is a sign that our hobby is gowing!
