Who woul db eup for a winter of 44-45 event??? I think that would be cool, and it could be based around either the Battle of the bulge... or Huergton Forest, something i would just like to fight in the snow... and get a chance to use my white wash and winter camo Or hell it could be the mountains in Italy even. -Cary

Ya, i just want to know if there would be support for this kind of event, though... while i was thinking about it, in Northern Italy in the Mountains where there was snow, it was mostly Special Forces fighting, Devils Brigade, and 10th Mountain. So maybe a Christmas of 44 event?? Like i said it doesnt have to be a huge battle, i kinda like huergton forest. -Cary

Well...no Jer...Before suggesting an event one should have an idea where it would be held, so when the question of "Who would be up for it?" comes around people know, what distance would be traveled, to attend such an event . BTW...Im just 1 man...not men...and Im not under your command yank... Franz

Im just suggesting the idea... get it thrown out there to look for interest... If someone has land that people around here can access easily, and we can probably build a little structure to warm themselves at night or when ever, though if we do find property, Foxholes and such would need to be prepared in advance... since it is damn hard to dig one in frozen ground. -Cary

Alrighty youve found the loop hole ;D, but again...location is key to the survival of the interest in an event. Franz

I would be totally up for a winter game. We could try Ostfront... with Americans... Cuz I have a good jump on an Italian winter impression and I'd like to use it, and break it in a bit.

Oooo an eastern front event would be most intresting! But...sadly thats the only thing that airborne along with any other american didnt participate in.

We could quite possibly make a winter event the first event at the Indiana field. Just a thought. Let it roll around in your noggins.

Dont say Bastogne... that wasnt the only fight... Try either the Bulge Or the Ardennes. That would be ok pretty good, or like i said there is always Huergton Forrest... its kinda forgotten since right after they broke through the Break through in the Ardennes occured, and the Meat Grinder in the Huergton was left for the history books. Either one would be cool. -Cary

Didn't we turn the Falaise Gap event into basically Hurtgen Forest because it was soo damn cold? I'm thinking a Siegfried Line type game.

I'm thinking a Siegfried Line type game. That is huergton forest. The attempt to breach the Siegfried line. Though patton had a rough go at it since he lost all his momentum when Monty took his supplies for Market Garden. -Cary

We could quite possibly make a winter event the first event at the Indiana field. Just a thought. Let it roll around in your noggins. PB........OVER & OUT!!! Local Indiana resident Erich Allshaus approves of this motion! I'd love for a winter event to take place around here, regardless of what period in the war it took place. However, I would try and focus on a certain point in the war that involves most of the guys with their kits so it's not too inaccurate. I think the Ardennes counter-offensive by the Germans would work out really well, considering it was the Allies that stormed the beaches on the attack last time!
