hello.......i might host an event (as the title says), it will be a blue level skirmish just to get people interested in joining my unit ( I have six people in my squad so it can be called that). oh and guinness can you help me with this, I'm really into this ww2 airsofting and every adult that i try to recruit gets really mad at me because I'm 13 and for taking up there time by pouting up over 100 fliers.

Do you have an impression yet? I don't want to misguide you or get your hopes down but I think you should wait a little bit or like you asked, help from Guiness.

Do you have an impression yet? I don't want to misguide you or get your hopes down but I think you should wait a little bit or like you asked, help from Guiness. I second that. As much as you may feel that you're capable of hosting an event, here are some questions that ANYBODY, nomatter what age should consider. 1. Do you have a proper, legal site to do this? Having 2 dozen people running around in your backyard gets old quick...and probably scares the neighbors. Also, something like "those woods near my house" isn't a good idea. 2. What forms/rules do you need? 3. How will it be paid for? 4. How will people be assured they won't show up to something thats a total flop? 5. What will you do if plan A fails? Say someone is hurt, it rains, ect. ect. 6. there's way way more to consider here People seem to be having the same reaction to you/your age for a reason. I don't know anybody would be pleased at first impression with somebody who's only 13, and doesn't seem to have any real experience with these types of things, to be leading a unit AND is the one running the event. Really, these things are left up to the adults 99.9% of the time, and 99.9% of the time, it's for a very good reason. I know I wouldn't be willing to stick my own neck out on hosting an event anytime soon, and I honestly wouldn't be willing to go to almost any "first time" event host, especially if its by someone who's 13. Thats just me.

Come to www.coloradoairsoft.org and read through the forums there. We did a WWII themed game recently and will probably do another after the first of the year.

Not at all, keep working on your impression, start as a private and join a nearby group of ww2 airsofters. Then over time you show the guys how much you truely love the history and sport. Just randomly hosting events is not going to give you what your looking for or make people trust you more. Also it is not necessarily support and trust etc, yes your 13, when your at that age you cant expect someone whos done this longer and has more expierience than you to follow your orders. Just go and learn from these guys, they will help you and teach you if you are willing to listen. Just my .02.

I'm curious too, is there some kind of kit list or any pictures of your impressions we can see?

Yankee and Franz give sound advice, they're not trying to shoot you down. They're here to help.
If you don't mind me asking, are you involved in any regular "modern" airsoft groups? Because I know that is how I originally got into WW2 airsoft. Since WW2 Airsofters are spread so thin across the country, I think meeting people in modern groups should be your first priority.
If you can't get on those message boards, find a way to contact the administrators and explain your situation, I'm sure they would be glad to let you on the forums.
World War II Airsoft is spread thin across the country. What you have to understand is that is very expensive for the average airsoft player to go out and buy an impression online. Thats one of the main reasons why there are so few of us. Just be very patient, work on getting to know regular airsofters in your area, and eventually an opportunity will present itself.
Don't give up!

Getting a job will also help, of course the law says you have to be 14. I would even go so far to say that World War II airsofting is even spread thin around the world. Seeing that other countries are just as interested is amazing, just as amazing as seeing people in there early teens, like you elder90 getting into the sport. It shows that the sport is going and gives all of us the chance to see the next bunch of guys-or girls-that are interest. I honoestly I wish could have been more interested in WW2 airsofting, or even airsoft for that matter when I was 13!!! I could have been playing for 5 years now!!! Keep on, keeping on and waiting is not so bad sometimes. Trust me it will get better. ;D

oh and i haven't been in a a modern airsofting unit and i don't plan to (sorry ) hay and i got interested in airsoft when ...... oh wait i remember the first event i went to well i wouldn't call it an event . it was more like 50 kids running around (i know this sounds illegal, thats cus it was) with airsoft guns. we were at my old house and we got permission from the people in like 9 houses to use there property to fight on. it ended when someone showed up looking like a SWAT guy and some old lady saw him and thought that it was a drug bust and she called the cops on us (i don't blame her, we looked like terrorists ;D)

I think the 504th is 82nd, not 101st. I am kind of doubting your complete impression if you don't know an 82nd PIR from a 101st PIR. No offense, you just have to see from my view point.

I didn't say you had to join a modern unit. I said that you should find out about the local airsoft organizations in your state and try going to one of their events. If you want to spark interest for WW2 airsoft and have people start joining your unit, that would be the place to start. But until get out to meet and get to know airsofters in your area, you won't get very far. And plus, getting into an airsoft organization or field is going to allow you to play in a safe area legally without having to worry about dealing with the police or the neighbors (or so I would hope).

Guys he's new, and just 13. If he really has 2 complete impressions already then great for him, if he really doesn't then he doesn't. I got into the hobby at his age and it took me about 9 months to get an impression together (and raise the money for one) so it may seem unlikely, but it's certainly possible. I've spent god knows how much money on this hobby already and it's all been from money I've earned on my own (a REALLY good paying job helps, as does free food, room & board thanks to mom and pop).
