Although Lion Claws is a modern themed event (Afghanistan like terrain) with 700 people there flying in from all over the world I just had top bring my Garand there to show off. At Chrono and then later at formations dozens of people singled me out first thinking it was a gas marushin and then going nuts when they realized it was an AEG. Interestingly the only ones who seemed to notice are the ones who were interested and fairly knowledgeable. It was very well received (lots of pictures taken of it) and several folks who got my card.
The old timers seemed to like it the most. A few people knew about the kit but said "I didn't think it was out yet!" They didn't realize it was my creation. By the way the event was incredible (as always!)

Sorry to bring this one back up.
I had originally planned to take an M1 Garand to Irene this year, but didn't get one in time. If I don't go with the plan for our team this year(kind of a mix of freedomfighters) I will try to take one for the whole weekend. I didn't do alot of shooting this year, so it may be just the ticket;)

They are starting to pop up at various big game events this year. There was one at Hac Bao in the hands of a VC last weekend and they continue to draw alot of attention. I love to hear the continuing positive comments.
The gun is quite appropriate for WW2 (obviously) Korean war, Vietnam and more recent conflicts throughout Central and South America and really throughout the world. The Garand is a very distinctive and widely recognized firearm
