I test fired my Marushin Garand today, and I was impressed with the kick you feel. However, I noticed that all my rounds went sailing into the air very high. WHich leads my to think the hop-up is to high. Can anyone tell me where the hop-up ajustment is located?
thanks. Garandftw

Nevermind this post i terms of finding the hop-up... i found it... right above the bolt slide. The question is, Has anyone figured out how to fine tune the hop-up?

Obviously if your BBs were sailing upward pronouncedly your hop up is too deeply set. Be sure to dial this in correctly as too much hop (especially with the 8mm BBs can cause problems in a hurry. Turn the tiny hex screw counter clockwise to reduce the amount of hop up. I have found that the Marushin hop up system is quite finicky and it takes quite a bit of fiddling around with to get just right. Once set it needs further adjustment from time to time as it adjusts on it's own way too readily and the amount needed varies with the level of pressure for any given shot which varies as do all gas guns.
The Marushin Garand gas gun is awesome when all is working as it should. That said, it's way way too persnickety for my taste other then as a replica and plinker. I simply could not tolerate it's inconsistency and limitations in skirmish use.
Most may see this as a shamless plug for my Garand AEG conversion (which it is) but it is my candid assesment that bears note by those seeking consistency and skirmishability. The added cost of my AEG conversion will be quickly made up for in savings on BBs (6mm) and the fact that you won't need gas or replacement parts from time to time. To say nothing for the reduced hassle and significant edge in improved performance.
