Ok i have the marushin m1 garand walnut version for less than a year and i have 3 problems. 1. I shoot about 2 clips and all this gas just pours out, and i don't mean a little gas it really pours out. 2. About 3 months ago it started shooting 2 bbs in one shot and or pull of the trigger. 3. Ever since i've had it i don't know if this is normal but the bbs fall really badly when fired its really inaccurate. This isn't a problem but i wondered if it would become a problem airsoft innovations makes a duster gas adapter, And i wonder would it ruin the gun like green gas or work like hfc134 if you dont know what im talking about when i say adapter here it is. www.airsoftatlanta.com/ammo.htmThey have just the duster gas adapter available or the madbull adapter or a kit for all gasses and a bottle of sillicone to add to the gas.

Wow grasshopper! I was going to get one of those but decide to wait. I bought one of 2nd Batts Garands instead. I know this doesn't help you or your three problems. If you live in the Chicago area maybe I could help. As a mechanical designer I would take it apart down to the last screw. But first I would have the manual open and lay it out as it is there. One thing you might try is contacting the company by email and stating your problems. The first one sounds like a leak in a o-ring or seal. The second is a result of the first one. and the third one sounds like a faulty hopup.

Duster gas is for all intents and purposes HFC 134 without the inbedded silicon so provided you lubricated your gun regularly it would work fine (at least in a gun that worked fine) It's a shame the Marushin Garands are so consistently problematic. Their challenges prevent them from selling in large enough numbers to encourage other manudfacturers to build and sell a Garand which really really sucks!

You know when i first got this gun i used to love the japenese now if i ever see a japenese person and had my garand with me id shove the garand in places you dont want a garand shoved in lol jk.
But i never researched on it and thought it was reliable and i really regret wasting like 500 bucks unless a fix to my problems come up.
This gun has a hopup? Wow how do i adjust it?
when i followed gordaks tutorial the double feeding went away but the gas emptying didn't and if its the o-rings how come the gas even stays in on the first mag and half of the second mag?
Oh and second Bat the silicone gets dropped onto the duster gas before putting the adapter on and you keep doing that every 5 or so mags

They are generally great wall hangers and if you're real real lucky a good backyard plinker. It's a shame they aren't more reliable. Sorry.

If you are in a fire fight and it's being used often it is going to heat up. Those o-rings will expand and that is why the gas is leaking out. Glad to hear Sam solved your double shot problem. Good guy to have around, too bad he is in CT.

it will not heat up, it will cool down... and therefore the gas wont be as effective as it would be when you heat it up

Yeah. Finally something that I can answer Some tips, which may help or may not help (I have been fiddling with my Garand for almost a year.) I fill it with HFC134a and wait for about 15 minutes before I start shooting it. And when I do shoot it, I fire like, BAM..... BAM..... BAM..... Just like a real soldier would. If you fire quickly, like, BAFBAFBAFBAFBAF, and I mean Carbine quickly, it`ll start leaking and behave stupid. It`s ok to do it once in a while, about 4 rapid shots, and then a small 5-10 second break forexample. About the hop-up, you have to adjust it indeed, seeing as you followed Gordiaks way of fixin the garand, you should now be safe to adjust the hop up (A small allen wrench just above the hopup chamber in the gun`s chamber). But remember this takes time and patience, adjusting the hopup perfect is a very long process (You just have to screw it all the way in, and then half a a turn out for each shot till u get it the way u want it.) Eventually, it will become very accurate and a good rifle otherwise, just not for hardcore firing and use in cold weather. Also, just to be on the safe side, spray some silicone gas into the gas chamber in the left of the gun`s chamber itself S! RvH

I'm having issues with the hop-up- as in it doesn't work. In 80 degree weather, the BBs go 20 feet with the hop-up on. I don't know what's up. Can anyone help?

For the accuracy problem, try re-adjusting your hop up settings
