I agree. Great job. The enhanced stock really makes a huge difference. A little touch up work on your receiver group and you're there. Thanks for sharing. How did you get the gas assembly inside the Phillipines since they are so draconian about such things?

I got the old M1 gun parts from a gunsmith in Bacolod City in the Visayas Islands south of Manila. I dared not bring it on the plane to avoid trouble with the authorities. I asked a friend to send it thru parcel together with some nuts, bolts and other plumbing parts to make it look like a shipment of hardware parts.

For those in countries that ban such things the molded resin gas assemblies might be the way to go. I've sold some at $30.00 plus shipping. They look amazingly good even at close up. If they help keep you out of jail that has to be a good thing. I've even manged to send a few into Canada which has to be the worst. How ironic that the homeland of John Garand is so troublesome.
