Black berets? I thought the only guys who wore black berets at that time were Rangers and SEALS. The Black Beret was first used by Armor units. This is from the official U.S. Army website "In the US Army, HQDA policy from 1973 through 1979 permitted local commanders to encourage morale-enhancing distinctions, and Armor and Armored Cavalry personnel wore black berets as distinctive headgear until CSA Bernard W. Rogers banned all such unofficial headgear in 1979."

If my memory is correct the staff at the ranger School was wearing black berets in 1971.

Small word of advice for the PMC loadout. Ive done them in the past and from my research they are not allowed to use any issued camo and Im pretty sure DPM still counts. Just a word of advice. The British are facing out DPM in favor of MTP , by the end of this year all British forces in Afghanistan will have been issued MTP , making Arid DPM a NON-ISSUE pattern. A lot of British troops are already wearing MTP. Dream on chap. We simply cant afford to scrap all the temperate and dessie dpm we have in stock for *many* years to come. Dessie dpm will be 'issue' to remf lads for at least five years at a conservative estimate. Put it this way I was in an *infantry* battalion and therefore high priority for new kit and I attested in 1998... it was 1999 before I even saw a set of 'soldier 95' in company stores. We all had to buy it as private purchase. Equally some sets of webbing coming out of stores in 2001 still had the occasional 90 pattern green pouches on them. I *seriously* dont expect dessie dpm to be 'non issue'for a very long time, we're currently short of it as it is and lads in afghan are having to wear some items in temperate DPM as there just isnt enough dessie stuff. As they pull it off teeth arms like the infantry and give them MTP the dessie will filter down to the rear echelon lads but it's going to take *years* we simply dont have the budget to scrap kit on a whim like you guys. As an indicator you just dont see dessie DPM in surplus stores in the UK anymore as the army are so short of it... five years ago there was tons of it about from the 2003 invasion (and a very small ammount from 1991) but now its non existant. A safer bet all round is non military kit for a PMC impression.

Interesting camouflage pattern. I've never seen that before. Supposedly it was developed by the Bulgarians in order to confuse NATO forces in case of a Warsaw Pact attack on the West. Here's a closer look at the Pattern

For the USMC imp. are you wearing all 2nd pattern hbts(army)? Never really saw USMC with full army hbt fatigues. I usually see marines with p41 jackets and 2nd pattern army trousers though. I'm also going to put together a korean war marine(which goes along with my rok army). Might go for a rok that is attached to a marine outfit as a translator. Here's my marine Hue 1968. I'm trying to get a m17 gas mask bag and mask, another OD#7 canteen cover and canteen, m1941 pack (top), Ka-bar and inner tube. There was a name on the back of the vest before, so i decided to write over it with my Korean last name in Hangul and English. Still looking for my rok camo for my rok marine.

Still sourcing stuff like the ressie bag, nbc suit and entrenching tool. Weapons are wrong as the AK74 is at the menders and i don't own an ak47 bayonet...

Your loadout looks great! Minor detail, early in the Police Action, the Marine's wore leggings, and were refered to as the "Crazy Yellow Legs" by the NKA, and would typically not try to engage the Marines if possible. This prompted some Marine units to remove their leggings to look more US Army like, in order to get the enemy to attack.
Other detail, I would add the Ka-bar knife, as it was one of those items that is symbolic of the 'Corps'.

Yes, I am working on getting leggings soon. I like the leg support. I do have a ka-bar its just uncomfortable with the m1 cartridge belt. I'll use it on my carbine web gear though.
