Our group PBI have pretty much entirely authentic aegs and rifles for a uk airborne section these days. Unfortunately we had a few guns go down so the old stalwart thompsons had to come out but as a group PBI has a *lot* on lee enfields, brens, stens, 1911s and S&W revolvers (oh and the odd captured MP40).

That looks real cool! Not to sexist in ANY way, but in picture #18, is that woman? I was just wondering. By the way, congrats on your promotion to PFC Gadge!

Why thankyou.
Yes it is a woman, its Diane/Dink/Helga who normally re-enacts as Helferin but often airsofts as a man.
In the UK scene we have at least four or five girls who dress as guys to take part in the battle.
Off memory we have.
Dink Anne A canadian lass who does panzer my lady Becky who sometimes comes to games in kit with me We used to have a girl called Heb play as allied
and im sure there are a few i've forgotten...
As long as long hair is tied up under a hat or concealed we dont usually discriminate for sex.

Looks like a fun event. Some of the kits and weaponry are grade A. If the exchange rate weren't as bad as it is one of those Brens would be tempting. Operation Varsity is a good scenario choice, my reenacting unit is being filmed for a documentary (I can't say who/which) on Op. Varsity 2 weeks from now, shame some of you guys couldn't cross the pond to join us.

Good luck with the filming.

Only about 30 a side to be honest
Because we were very tight about what units you could portray and what you could wear we unfortunately cut off a lot of players.
For example uk forces had to be brit airborne only and badged up as ox and bucks.
Germans could be 84th inf division in field grey (minimal camo requested) or 7th FJ.
No ss camo or Mediterranean kit was allowed, folk could play in their ss feldgraus but had to leave any camo items at home!
Still we got good enough numbers (most we've had at a UK event is around 100) but more importantly we got great quality, units looked liek units not a rag tag of 15 different regiments in one platoon!

well thats pretty good considering the events we got down here in socal, most of the time events will run as low as 25 on 25 and sometimes less, but I mean you got that many AND it's a WWII game, thats awsome.. -Eddie

30 on 30 with quality impressions is good in my book!
Gadge, do you seem to get a lot of reenacting/living history converts to airsoft (or continue both hobbies) over in the UK because of the restrictive gun laws, or are most of these guys just airsofters?

We're getting more of a cross over now.
Because initial airsoft games didn't have such high kit standards a lot of re-enactors found them Flaggrantly Wrong and thought they damaged re-enactment.
Now a lot are being won over after some of us have attended shows with airsoft replicas and they have been impressed with the quality.
Its a long battle...
