OK here we go, I'm not gonna do a very long after action report but Ill give a good one. On Friday we had two Americans show up, Cary and Nick and they both helped me set up the field and camp to get it ready for the next day. We slept outside and had fun eating rations and listening to period music and news reports from a period radio that Cary modified to use with a hidden CD player that he would put Cd's on with music and reports from WW2. Saturday rolls around ad we are up at about 7:30am and people started to trickle in, the attendance we nice at 12 people and the sides were quite even. We decided to spend most of the morning having fun, shooting the breeze and chilling. At about 2:00pm everyone that was going to attend was there and we decided to start the event. Because all the members at the event were what I would call seasoned vets, we decided to for go the training aspect of the event and skirmish the entire day and it was a blast. It was very very fun and if you weren't there, well ya should have been lol. I may be hosting another training based event in a few weeks again. And here are some pics, I didn't do anything in photo shop with them but they came out great anyway. Everyone had some great kits and we had allot of diversity in impressions. It was a very laxed event and the object was to have fun and I think we accomplished that, I think we can agree that it was a very successful event and accomplished its purpose...to shoot our guns, put on our impressions, build our friendships, and strengthen the WW2AA in Illinois. Indeed! It very much did! I enjoyed the skirmishes, they were short, but VERY fun. The tornado warning scared me a bit, but Im glad we all decided to stay and wait it out. Enjoyed seeing the usual gang again, hope to do this again soon.

It was quite the fun event! It was kind of nice to play fast paced and close quarters for a change. I'm looking forward for all upcoming events this summer.

Wow! That looked like a lot of fun! The Blood Flag Pic and the one with the Bayonet and captured German would look original if were toyed around with in MS Picture Manager, eh? Again, looks very nice!

Nice looks like you guys had a great time. Cary, is your M1 a real steal or Airsoft? Maybe I'll make it there next year if you have one next year.

Real Steel... I did have a great time as well. The heat was the only problem, but what the hell... i drank 5 canteens of water and in the end still was dehydrated... o well i lived.. The tornado warnings were a little eerie... though, i would have to say the worst was the mile + wide tornado touching down 10 minutes away from my house. -Cary

I wished I could have gone, but with the event that was on the May 31st and the one on the 14th coming up, gas money wouldn't allow me this trip. We can't make them all, hopefully next time I can make the trip.

Well I had a great time at the event, the field turned out to be the perfect size for a group this size or even slightly bigger and promoted close quarters combate. I have to say simply hanging around and talkign with everyone was my favorite part. I hope to have another one of these events soon, possibly in the next three weeks.

Sorry I couldn't make it... I feel like an idiot, had a set of SATs that I had to take, thought they were this coming week. Doh!

Everyones kits really were great and complete as well. I was also pleased with the diversity in kits, we had Heer, SS, Luftwaffa, GI, Airborn, Marine, and British and every kit was complete which was great. We also all had period weapons as well with a nice range in types of weapons M1 Carbine, M1928 Thompson, M1A1 Thompson, gas colt.45, gas victory revolver, BAR, M1 Garand, Kar-98, Mp-40, Im sure a Lugar was there, oh we also had a Mortar and a Lee-Enfield in play as well.

Really nice looking impressions, guys! The USMC impressions are really neat to see.
We definitely need to get the Illinois and Wisconsin/Minnesota guys together sometime for a "maximum effort" Midwest event. Perhaps there could be one such event per year where we collaborate on a big two day weekend. Thoughts?

yeah, you're enfield will be of more use when you get the front end mounted, "eyeballing" your shots gets old quick when you have to cycle after each shot.
