How can you do much FPS when most of what was done was charging enemy trenches. I doubt it will be very realistic unless you have to put on your gas masks all the time and not be able to see anything as you cross no mans land. No trench foot no disentary. World war one was miserable for the average soldier even if he wasn't fighting at the time.

There was this neat Sci-Fi Continuation of WW1 FPS game that came out several years ago. It was really neat, you had all these very old looking weapons that had a strange mix of WW1 and WW2-modern stuff added to them along with web equipment that looked like a mix of WW1 stuff and Vietnam gear. It was really cool. The SMGs were big and bulky but had night vision on them with huge battery packs and only 30rnds of ammo. And they had some neat Springfield-ish looking semi automatic rifles with like 10 rnds. Along with some bad ass looking anti tank guns and tanks that looked like WW1 tanks on steriods.
All in all it was a neat concept and still took place in the Trenches of Europe in like 1930 I think. And it was not all extreamly sci fi ish, it really looked like weaponry that migh have developed if the war continued.

Well. That's cool.
I think this game will be a "Quick! Shoot the sniper so we can put our heads up again!" *New Objective Recieved: Kill Sniper* kind of deal... where the storyline is extremly controlled, thus allowing some freedom of movement within the game atmosphere... Kind of like Call of Duty 1.

This game will have to be rated M them, the trench fighting was very crude with lots of different weapons: E-tools, maces, knifes, issued weapons along with handmade ones.

I think it will have to be rated M to sell copies. Let face it, people won't be satisfied just shooting bolt action rifles. People are going to want to bash people's heads in with maces, slash people with shovels, and stab people with saw-toothed bayonets. WW1 was a lot more bloody and gruesome than WW2 ever was, and this game will have to portray it as such to be good or else it's just going to be treated as a second class WW2 shooter.

But of course, they can't portray it too gruesome, then that would make bad impressions of it to the game-players. I hope it doesn't become another "Rambo" game. Sure, WWI was like that, but if they had all those weapons, it'd make it too much of a Rambo game.

Mabey, it will turn some gamers off who don't have the stomache for it, but they are the minority. The majority of gamers don't have a problem with blood and gore. I'm not talking about Soldier of Fortune, where you shoot someone in the arm and their entire arm blows off. However, when you bash someone in the head with a trench shovel, his head shouldn't look "fine" after. It will be using the Unreal engine so we can definetley expect a lot of blood, if you've ever played Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

We can't really tell seeing as how little information has been released. However, we do know it's using the Unreal engine, and therefore there will be gore, and it will probally be rated M.

I hope it isn't Call of Duty 4 type gore(it looks so dumb).

There wasn't that much gore in CoD4...mabey a blood splatter on the wall here and there, but that was it.
The Unreal engine is much more realistic. You'll probally see bullet holes on bodies. There will be quite a lot of blood. When a guy gets shot and slides on a surface, there will be a trail of smearing blood to follow him. I have never seen dis-membering in the Unreal Engine, but If the game devs want it, they could put it there.

The bullet holes on the bodies are so stupid, it looks like they are metal bodies. It'd be easier to have a little blood on the corpse. Because, for example, if you are a medic and someone gets shot, there isn't a huge hollow hole in his leg.

"Holes" was a wrong choice of words on my part. They are more like circular splotches of dark red blood where they supposedly got shot. And it's not like they are a dime a dozen, so to speak. One "hole" will show up on a body for every couple of shots.

I just hope it has 3D bodies so when you look on the ground you see your body and if your reaching for your pistol you can see your hand taking it out of the holster. I want that kinda thing way more then better gore.

Are you describing MOH's Rambo-esqe OSS missions perhaps? P.S. The game Jer is describing is called Iron Storm, taking place in the 60's. I know because I recently bought it for 3 bucks at the flea market. ;D -Nick

Are you describing MOH's Rambo-esqe OSS missions perhaps? -Nick Hate to tell you this Waldo , but their was a Rambo game released by Acclaim on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) on December 4, 1987 in Japan, and May 1988 in North America. It is based on the plot of Rambo: First Blood Part II.
