I contacted my buddies at WGC shop and they too have never heard of "Viva". This is their reply:
" We have no idea too coz, there is too many manufacturers in China, just like the star in the sky. Many manufacturers just copy & copy. We need to check it first!"
WGC now has a heads up on the MG34 and will also look ito see if they can procure units for sale: " Of course we will try to order those, but need to wait a more liitle bit. After that fiasco with S-3 and their supposed custom MP40 I'm very reluctant to buy from anyone I don't know.

After that fiasco with S-3 and their supposed custom MP40 I'm very reluctant to buy from anyone I don't know. I certainly can't blame them. But I never actually found out what happened with S-3. From what I understand it was a simple case of false advertising, and charging an AGM MP-40 for about 2X-3X the price, but the details were blurry to me. BTW aren't they still making an MP-40, or am I thinking of SRC?

BTW aren't they still making an MP-40, or am I thinking of SRC? SRC is making one which by all counts seems like it may the best so far when released. S-3 was just charging 2x the price. S-3 actually shut down the shop for about a month after that for a big fight which broke out. Not sure the reason though. They are back and open now and seem to have learned from there errors. The reason I want WGC to sell the MG43 is they are major supplier to the gunshops in HK. If they don't have it nobody does.

$700? Thats fantastic!! I've paid much more for much less gun in the past. I'll be anxious to see if thats true.

Latest on the RSOV forum is that first shipments are due in November.
I am VERY interested in this, and hope it becomes a reality. Imagine having an affordable LMG for the Germans to perform the historical LMG-centered squad tactics and organization.

I am VERY interested in this, and hope it becomes a reality. Imagine having an affordable LMG for the Germans to perform the historical LMG-centered squad tactics and organization. The only problem is getting the riflemen to support it on the German side and having an opposing force armed with at least a mix of weapons instead of full autos. Then you'd have something. I see the biggest benefit as cosmetic (no small thing) and not so much as tactical.

Are you suggesting the Americans weren't 100% outfitted with Thompsons and an unlimited ammo supply? That sounds like revisionist history to me.

start introducing semi auto rules into your games guys. It will start you down the road to more authentic tactics. You already have awesome impressions.

+1 on that when ever we have that rule the guys here follow it pretty well. Hopefully we'll be doing more WWII styled games in the future.

Not to take this thread too offtopic, but we've tried non-punitive balancing measures that haven't worked so great. I'm not a big fan of telling people that they have to nerf their gun, but it seems like that may need to be the case... I'm sure there's a tactics forum on this board to discuss such things

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! That thing looks real! It would be perfect on a motorcycle sidecar! I would love having it, I would rather have a 30 Cal though. I think their should be 2 machine gun airsoft per squad, just my dibs.

I saw the release time frame on another forum. Might try to pull that up.
But dang..that is tempting. Too bad I'm blowing my money on other such things.

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, I'm just posting this to recap and conclude everything: (MG34 is set so far to be released on September 2009 for around $700)
I think I've seen on other forums however that "Viva" is either a cover or joint-name for another Company that will be selling this AEG, thoughts?

These take on Mythical status as they tease and taunt us. I think sometimes companies test the water with release info and find either there isn't enough enthusiasm to support the actual production or (more likely) they run into production snags or misdirections.
There is a tremendous amount of graft and political wrangling involved in getting these things done in China. If the right people aren't paid your factory gets raided and closed down for yucks and giggles. Also factories that produce gears and such often get diverterted to other contracts. If you can make electrical motors and gears for airsoft guns you can do power windows for automobiles.

I've seen posts on some other boards that many of the factories in Southern China that produced non-essential goods (toys, sporting goods, AEGs, repro uniforms etc.) have been closed due to the economic situation. China is hurting just as bad as we are but from the other side of the equation. The world isn't buying much, so they aren't selling much.

Unfortunately given the world economy I think we shouldn't expect much in the way of new releases. Even things that were well underway will likely be postponed or cancelled altogether. Sad situation all around.

more importantly has ANYONE. seen a product by viva for sale, anywhere? they used to make AK steel receivers and other bits for ak's now they want to pump out a complete and rare model gun? fishy at best.
remember there was a hoax mg34 before and a hoax m82 barret.

i don't remember a realistic (anything more concrete than some guy saying that he heard from the factory) hoax mg34, but with the barret, are you talking about the one that showed up on Arnies, with a picture no less, and then we never heard anything about?

a couple years ago there was a picture. much like a pic from VIVA but more white washed out saying china made mg34. the classic gun folk crapped themselves. looked much like this one www.rsov.com/img2/mg34_1.jpg just slightly blurry and very whited out. heck might even be on airsoft news if u dig back to 2 years ago. the barret was also a hoax, similar situation funny single photo of a gun. me personally i discovered that madbull might of been making a barret when they printed it on the box of a madbull shell. simon denied it existed. but this was back in late '06. i had a huge thread on as-r i even had steel6 from as-news ask him wtf and simon just gave him a blank stare. i think it could of work since their single shot c02 system sucked royal. they could of sold upgrade parts to make it kick harder. oh well
