An M1 Carbine AEG would very challenging and has not been done yet. Here are the parts you'll need for your M1 Conversion Gas Cylinder(try ebay for that), Gas Cylinder Lock,(eBay or gun show), Gas Cylinder plug, Front and Rear Handguard(order them from Sarco), rear Handguard Ferrule optional, and an M14 and your ready. Here are some directions on how to make it. www.ontarioairsoftwwiireenactors.com/PDFs/Upgrades/M14_to_a_M1_Garand.pdf Also ask 2nd Bat and Kraddatz for any questions you might have. Good luck!

You just need to buy an M14. The best shooting and best looking brand is CYMA M14 but AGM version is good too.

well my question still hasn't been answered. not to sound harsh but my specific question is do you have to buy an M14??? I am asking this because i don't want to spend money on a new AEG if all i need is the internals of one.

Yes you need an M14 AEG because you need to use the reciever and the stock for the conversion. A real M1 Garand reciever cost $250+

5th Bat. It is quicker, easier and ultimately CHEAPER to buy a complete M14 and modify it than to try and buy the bits and pieces you'll need seperately. HOW MUCH clearer does that need to be? You'll use virtually all the parts from the M14 with thr exception of the flash suppressor, hi cap mag, M14 gas reservoir and a few other minor pieces. I can't imagine where or how you might source the exact bits and pieces you need and even if you could it would no doubt cost more than the 125 to 150.00 it costs to get a M14!
I recall not too long ago when the only base M14 options were Maruis at $350.00 plus, GnGs for even more and AirsoftClubs for $800.00. The availability of the new wonderful clone Maruis is marvelous and makes this project truly affordable.

What kind of an inner barrel are you talking about? The M14 comes with an inner barrel.

It will make the gun shoot harder and farther but you don't have to have it. Its just an optional upgrade. Get a CYMA or an AGM M14 there the best brands.

could someone list some sites on where to get parts cheap(besides ebay). I plan on getting the gas cylinder piece first since it is the most expensive and i don't have to worry about getting it next year or what not. thanks.

Yea it does. Its better to use the M14 one though. My M1 Garand clip has to be modified by bending it at a certain spot to fit.
