Yes Call of Duty 5 was confirmed on December 2nd! Its going to be set in the Pacific, thats not a rumor anymore> www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkARQ3RXBTo This looks really good. I can't wait for it to be released. "Call of Duty: World at War will be the fifth installment of the series (ninth, counting expansion packs and early console variations) and was confirmed on December 2, 2007. On June 9th 2008, it was confirmed that the game will be titled Call of Duty: World at War and will be set during the Pacific War as previously speculated. More information will be released by Activision in Mid-Late June. Call of Duty: World at War will be released on for Wii, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, DS, PC. It will be set in the pacific theater of WWII." quote from Wikipedia.

TG I can imagine you sitting on your couch in full kit, Thompson at your side, playing that game. Merry Christmas, TG!
I think a Pacific Game of this magnitude is long overdue. They have some small games like Assault on Iwo Jima, kind of like B-Movie games, but I can't wait! I personally think they should have a Medic-based game.

They won't do a Medic based game because most people wouldn't enjoy it . Someone on here should learn the computer business and make a bunch of realistic games for us Stitch Nazi's ;D I am relieved that it isn't another Modern Warfare one.

I don't like Call of Duty that much, even though Medal of Honor is less realistic, I still like Medal of Honor better. I agree with gunfreak most games the M1 Garand stinks. I've always thought Medal of Honor Pacific Assault looked cool but I've never played it. Of all the FPS WAR games I've played(COD1, COD2, COD3, COD4, MOH Breakthrough,MOH Allied Assault, and MOH Airborne) my favorite's are Medal of Honor Airborne and Medal of Honor Breakthrough. Not because there more realistic but there more enjoyable. I thought they were both extremely fun. I think Call of Duty 4 is disgusting, too easy, and to planned out (you don't have enough freedom in the game). I also think if they wanna make it realistic why don't they give you a 3D body and they should show you picking up your ammo, instead of just walking over it. Thats just my 2cents. I hope Call of Duty World at War will be better and not just a copy of COD4. Here's a realistic game www.hellshighwaygame.com/

The BIA game series is so much better than the CoD series. But CoD5 might change my mind. Probably not

The reason that BIA is realistic is because that it has realistic language and violence. I'm assuming soldiers don't yell "Oh Geeze!" when they're being fired upon. Bodies just don't fly through the air when hit with grenades, they get shredded. BIA incorporates tactics and a storyline that far surpasses anything MOH or COD have ever attempted. Nick

yeah, when someones shooting at you, poo just dosin't cut it
even Dick Winters said some bad things every now and then,
I also find it weired that a few words are bad when you kill people.
blowing people up is fine wholsome childrens games, but as soon as someone says a 4 letter word it's a horrible game that corupts americans youths

The new USMC Mini series kinda like BOB but with the Marines in the Pacific. I sure hope we dont get an influx of 13 yr old wanna be Marines becuase of this like with the ariborn. I know for sure USMC stuff (as expensive as it is already) will skyrocket in prices as soon as this thing hits just like Airborn stuff did, thats why Im trying to get as much USMC stuff as I can now!

I like Brother in Arms because of the 3D bodies the realistic squad tactics not because they shout out Holy S**t. I know in the Army they use a lot of language, but that doesn't mean they have to portray it in games. As violence goes no one should get used to and not be disturbed by blood in guts and heads coming off and people getting shot to pieces. I saw one level of COD4 and I felt sick it was disturbing and as soon as a game gets disturbing it is silly to make it. Playing video games isn't suppose to show you what War is like its for your enjoyment, nothing more nothing less. Thats my 2 cents. Most of it has to do with my religion and I don't want to talk about that publicly on this thread so lets drop it please.

Decapitation and body mutilation by bullets can be very entertaining, but thats because it is a game and solely a game. We want our games to make us feel like we are in war, its why I play them, because if thats not why then I am playing them for the reasons. And as for religion, I myself do not have one, i don't feel the need to have my life ruled by a book, thats just me, but I do still have moral standards none the less. I guess my point is no matter what your going to see violence and profanity in video games, its what sells and for what I see there is going to be even more in the coming games.

I honestly don't expect anything stupidly stellar. I heard nothing but crap about CoD3, and Treyarch is batting a thousand for messing up stuff.
Medal of Honor went to the dogs after Allied Assault, save for MoH:PA's single player.
The perks thing, if it works like CoD4's, will destroy any shred of a fun WWII multiplayer.
I say godspeed to them, and hope they use the failures of Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault's multiplayer, and the successes of its single player, and make the first truly successful PTO shooter.
Expecting the worst, but hoping for the best.

Most of it has to do with my religion and I don't want to talk about that publicly on this thread so lets drop it please. This is why games like that are rated M for mature. By design it's meant to prevent 13 year old kids from being mentally disturbed by call of duty. Not their fault you decided to play a game thats above what is reccomended for your age. For me personally, video games do squat as far as realism goes. Entertaining yes, but what is realistic about playing xbox compared to the real world? When I want to put on a military uniform, fire weapons, and "play army" I go out and reenact. Not sit in front of my xbox on the couch for a few hours. These games aren't meant to please the super-small group of reenactors that care about webgear setups, it's meant to be entertaining to the average video gamer and sell as many copies as possible. I think the new Call of Duty video game will be average. A definite improvement over the other ones but nothing ground breaking. Heck, I'll still buy it.

Video games are nothing like real war. They make em to be entertaining. They lack so much to have a real war feel. If video games were based on real war only everyone would hate them.

Anyone should be disturbed by it, its Human Nature, and if your not disturbed it means your used to it. I never want to get to that point were it doesn't disturb me at all.

Sgttom, theres a reason BIA is rated M. If you are disturbed by such things, then by all means exercise your right to not play it. Theres a reason BIA and COH are made differently, they are meant for audiences of different age levels. I respect that you have reservations about playing games that are violent, but you do not need to voice your religious reasons for doing so. COH is meant to be a run-of-the-mill FPS, and theres nothing wrong with that. But don't think that people play BIA just because they wish to see the blood and gore or that they are insensitive to violence. I play it because I enjoy squad-based tactics and storyline, and know that its a game for enjoyment, not real. Sorry about my rant fellas. Nick

Yeah. Waldo hit the nail on the head. I don't mind gratuitous violence, it sometimes adds to the immersion factor that a game may have. I have been known to sit down at my PC, fire up RO, and end up sitting there for LITERALLY 3 or 4+ hours fighting the Ruskies, and afterwards I end up having to go rest it off. Even if its only animated violence, I still can only take so much in one sitting. So I exercise my right to take a breather from it.
BiA also has that "based on a true story" thing goin'. I remember before the first one came out reading that it is apparently the true story of the 502nd, but the names were changed of the soldiers because they couldn't get the rights to use their real names (the article said that to use a soldiers name, you had to have their direct permission unless they are LT. or higher, then you may use them). I still cant wait for BIA:Hells Highway.

Yeah in PC Gamer they mentioned everyone under the rank of Lt. was not a real name, I wondered why.
