Good eyes on that M1903A3 GyreenGreen, like you I desperately hope that does not make the final cut as well. I also hope they don't outfit almost all the guys in the Guadalcanal part of the series with Garands, yeah some were used but the majority better have M1903A1 Springfield's for that campaign.

Awww...I miss the ETO games already, you know those ones with the "Historically accurate" germans? Black Allgemeine Uniforms, Bright red swastikas (worn on both arms), with gasmasks, and holding MG42s with endless ammunition, that wont die unless you hit them 5 times with a gammon grenades. (God i hate MOH Airborne). Thank god for a game with diversity.

MoH Airborne was a flop. It's really a shame, but when Activision did a power move and hired the original MoH team (the ones that did Medal of Honor, Medal of Honor: Underground, and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault) for more than what EA was paying them, what's to expect?
Call of Duty 1, Call of Duty 2, Brothers in Arms: The Road to Hill 30, Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood, and Red Orchestra have the most "historically accurate" Germans that I know of. Varying units, somewhat correct camo's and such. Did anyone else notice the large number of German soldiers wearing the Spanish Volunteers colors in CoD2's singleplayer?

Sgttom, theres a reason BIA is rated M. If you are disturbed by such things, then by all means exercise your right to not play it. Theres a reason BIA and COH are made differently, they are meant for audiences of different age levels. I respect that you have reservations about playing games that are violent, but you do not need to voice your religious reasons for doing so. COH is meant to be a run-of-the-mill FPS, and theres nothing wrong with that. But don't think that people play BIA just because they wish to see the blood and gore or that they are insensitive to violence. I play it because I enjoy squad-based tactics and storyline, and know that its a game for enjoyment, not real. Sorry about my rant fellas. Nick I agree with you. I am not saying people play the game to see gore I am saying I'd play the game because of the realism of the squad tactics and the 3D bodies. Video games need many improvements. They lack so many simple things, like seeing yourself picking up your ammo, Being able to see your feet on the ground and your body when you look down. It should only take one or two shots for you to be killed too, there should be more Medics and no little health boxes. They just can't get it right I guess. If they want to be realistic why don't they show soldiers screaming out when there dying "God save me" instead of Oh D***n. Its just are sick society. MOH Airborne is funny when the Germans go flying in the air when the die. Its really a not realistic game in a lot of respects, but I think it is fun to play. I like the cartoonish graphics too. ;D Anyways why do you guys think that COD5 is going to be bad. Its probably going to be just like COD4 graphic wise, don't you agree?

cod4 graphic wise? have you played cod2? cod4 is cod2 skinned to be modern, added some new models, didnt even change the voice acting for US or british. and added in some goodies like depth perception and better HDR. I like RO graphics the best, unless its cod2 with high res skins for the soldiers.

Hmm I never knew that. The graphics certainly look better then COD 2 in my opinion. The graphics in RO don't impress me at all. The most realistic game by far is Brothers in Arms Hells Highway, graphic wise and realistic wise.

I am defintely tired of those 1 man missions where you have a BAR, Thompson, Garand, a pistol and like 5 grenades (try to carry THAT). You have to kill a million Germans. I like the larger assaults. The fact that it's more realistic and that they give you cover and such makes it more enjoyable.

Boy is that so true Medic. In the MoH series your like that a BAR, Thompson, an M-1, pistol and grenades. Fightin a million Germans. Though like on Allied Assault you have allies . But once there gone your on your own. no back-up.

In COD 3 online multiplayer, if you play as a german and you get to Sgt. Rank when you get headshots your germans yells (translated) "go home yankees! to your cripple president!" Harsh...yes...realistic....in its own special way.

I love it when that happens, especially since shooting a man in the head will not instantly kill them

LOLz Well think what you want on the Language matter............. I agree with you Kyle after closely looking at the graphics in COD4, there not great. The leaves and trash and stuff like that flying through the air gives it a realistic effect though. I guess Red Orchestra might be good but the pictures ,so far, don't impress me but the pre development pictures of BIA Hells Highway looked horrible compared to the in game footage. Well time will tel. I defiantly think that Brothers in Arms Hells Highway beats all. The squad tactics are really cool. The blood in BIA is less gruesome then in COD4 though. I thought Hells Highway was rated M but its actually 16+. I really wish that MOD for BF2 would come out sooner. www.1944d-day.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=63

Everyone has their own personal taste, it is just up to the game developers to decide which stuff will appeal to the majority of the audiences. So if it happens that the majority of the gamers want thier guts and gore, then sorry for you guys that don't have the stomache, you're out of luck.
I believe one of the reasons for this is because of people like Jack Thompson and these angry parents who seem to think that violent games contribute to the national murder rate. Frankly, I think thats a load of bullapplesauce . It's simple, if you don't want your kids exposed to it, don't buy the game.
Personally, I love blood and gore. In my opinion, Call of Duty 4 does not have enough of it. Sure, the blood splatter on the wall is nice, but I want to see pools of blood acumulating under deads bodies, and dead bodies rittled with bullet holes. When a grenade blows up directly on a guy, him flying a few feet back isn't satisfying enough. I want him to be shredded. I know it sounds like I'm some kind of sicko, but I like my games realistic.
As far as language goes, I don't really care. Sure I'd prefer it if they didn't drop a ton of f-bombs for when my parents walk by, but it won't stop me from buying a game either way.
Now, about Call of Duty 5. I've seen the screenshots, and I'm less than thrilled. I'm sorry but after 5 games, WW2 gets old after a while. Call of Duty 4 was a nice refereshment, but I want more variety. Mabey a little Vietnam? Even the Korean War would do. Call of Duty games have been getting all to repetative.
Walk somewhere, a bunch of enemies pop up, you kill them, walk to another place, kill enemies, etc. Oh look! A scripted helicopter crash! How exciting, I never saw that coming!
The variety in uniforms has also gotten increasingly disturbing. In the earlier Call of Duty games we actually saw quite a bit of uniform variety. However, fastforwarding to Call of Duty 3, Every single German looked the same! Ok, I can understand the identical grey uniforms for the run-of the mill germans, but these are SS for Christ sake! Every single one had a green/brown flecktarn torso, olive drab pants, and a grey helmet. They also had identical webbing. The only real variety was if they carried an MP40 or a Kar98, which isn't all that much if you consider it. Call of Duty 3 was a an absolutley terrible game. Call of Duty 4 was a minor improvement but not much.
rant off/

When a guy gets shot blood doesn't suddenly fly out of him. About violent games causing murder I agree thats stupidity. Call of Duty 3 and 4 are made out to be better then they are. I agree they should make Korean War and Vietnam there are hardly any Vietnam games and even less Korean games. Games just need major Improvements to have a decent realistic feel.

No game is completely realistic, as with a reenactment. No matter how good the graphics, weapons and uniforms are you always are missing one thing: fear. Constant fear. You can't demand a game that will make you feel like you were in war. The only way to do that is to fight in the war.

Same guys as 3...not good. Perhaps it will be pretty good cause they might have learned from 4 and some games that flopped. I have to go with TG on this as well, about damn time for the PTO. I think this would be a great game if you could play as the Americans, Brits, and the Australians. And some missions in a plane/on a battleship/and like on the ground in a Sherman flamethrower or something besides the regular run around but you'll have to have those missions too. It would be cool if we got back on topic as well..

I haven't seen any games where the main setting is in a different Military. You know what would be cool? Landing at Sword Beach in the LST and just hopping off into the water with an Enfield. A game that is completely British Army would be cool.

COD2 Had some what diversity, Russian, british and us. but only germans as enemys, come to think of it moh airborne is the only game to have a different nationality, the itialians and you dont even play as them. except for some pto games with japs in them. i think a game that had you fight as Japaneses would be cool.

MOHAAB (Medal Of Honor: Breakthrough) had Italians. In fact, that game was North Africa, Italy and Sicily.
Yeah, fighting as a German would be cool, too. Especially if you had to defend Normandy, then retreat to the cities, then be captured.

If this is anything like COD3 then it will be total crap, I couldn't stand that game. I couldn't get through like 4 missions before I stopped playing. It was just way too scripted with poor modeling. I fear that it is because it's made by the same studio. In my opinion, infinity ward and grey matter make the only good CODs.
Have you guys played MoH Pacific Assault? That was easily the best pacific game so far.

I'm getting it for Christmas. Someone told me it was coming out Dec 5, so I asked my mom to get it for Christmas. So how is it accuracy-wise? On wikipedia it says there's fighting in Berlin (Photo caption), but that's probably Luzon, right? -Nick
