TM Tracer unit arrived today and fits great! I'm going to test it out tonight. Let us know how it goes Garrick and what bb brand you end up using. -kalbs-

I've been reading a lot of reviews on this gun and is it a good buy? Also do you have to install the front sight? Lastly is there anyway to completly fix the stock woble? Good Buy: Yes, excellent Install front Sight: No, nothing to install Fix wobble: Yes, shim it as noted in some reviews and in other threads.

Thanks, help is appreciated, it seems alot of reviews on airsoftgi.com disowned this gun.

The AGM STG44 is plain awesome if you ask me. However, when I got mine, the front sight were rattling around in the box, so yes, I had to install it. It basically meant that I had to click it into place.
I thought it was secure once it was installed, but I lost it in the first game I played (I accidentally kicked it loose when running around), and it took me an hour and a strong magnet to find it again. So even if the front sight is assembled from the factory (mine probably fell loose in the shipping process), beware since it can fall off if you're unlucky.

Wow! Just WOW!
That weathered MP44 looks just how it should!
I would love to have one of those - Maybe I'll take up skirmishing!

I bought mine from Kapowee and for not a bad price. They are in Texas so it was in my hands by the end of the week. AWSOME gun. I'm going to leave mine as is and use it for target shooting. Don't have a German impression as of yet. I have to agree with everyone, having one has been more fun. Best purchase yet. Can't wait to see what comes next, maybe an G43?

Let us know how it goes Garrick and what bb brand you end up using. -kalbs- Holy cow I've been AWOL from the boards for a while. I've finished all the work on this gun. Put in a tightbore barrel and a lighter spring. It is now consistently shooting 395 with .2s (vs 440 out of the box). The tracer unit works great! I've only used the TM .2 gram tracers with it so far at one game. Like Kalbs said, to fix the stock wobble use a small metal shim inside the sleeve where the stock slides onto the back of the gun. Also, you might want to put bigger screws in the stock as mine were not up to snuff. This is by far the best performing AEG I've purchased (disclaimer: I don't do modern airsoft), that said, I have some concerns about how common these become in the coming months at events. AGM really has to get a PPsh on the market to even things up for our Soviet friends

Question, should I upgrade the battery to either a 9.6v with a low MaH or a 8.6v with a high MaH?

Question, should I upgrade the battery to either a 9.6v with a low MaH or a 8.6v with a high MaH? You are limited on size of the battery to a standard AK stick which is the 8.4 length. I use my 11.1v King Arms Lipoly as a primary which is the same size without any problems.

Their too caught up with the modern crowd, I'm going out on a limb and saying :Any ww2 gun that is highly requested beats any modern gun being produced. No one asked for a GBB M4, we are asking for a M1 Garand/PPSH/. Stop wasting money on modern guns and make guns that will sell, we want WW2!!!

Probaly because everyone makes m4's, ak's, mp5's and all a company has to do is copy the other company or improve it. Also a classic army m4's magazine will work for a JG an just about all other brands of m4's a stG44 mag will only work for the shoei and AGM, and a thompson's mag will only work for a CYMA and A tokyo Mauri, so why would companies waste there money on problems like this, THEY USALLY don't. Why companies don't make a lot of ww2 weapons is probaly for those reasons.
And airsoft really hasn't been around long, but by looking at the success of the StG44 I assume more ww2 weapons will be produced.

Got the StG44 today the wood stock version. My stock doesn't woble at all and the stock pins aren't like the ones shown the have a spring loaded cotter pin like the real ones. My hop up is clear plasctic, isn't that bad?

My hop up is clear plasctic, isn't that bad? Any Ver2. M16 type hop-up works so a replacement is easy if you want to replace it, however if it works fine then leave it. You know the old saying "If ain't broke, don't fix it"

the clear plastic would be good for making a hop up tracer unit. look on Arnies for DYI tracer units

If you got one of the later AGM MP44's, that came with the plastic MP40 muzzel nut. Here is a place to get a metal one for decent price! auroraind.net/detail.aspx?ID=88

Brand new to the forums and this gun is looking mighty sexy to me. Does it fire well when it's stock from Evike? Will an AK pouch hold the mags? If not, where can I find MP44 pouches?

hi fellas thought this info may be useful, i bought an early version (doesent have alocking pin on the stock relies on an o ring!)but apart from that its great, the metal parts blue nicley (mag and hand guard) have tried bluing the zinc parts with mixed results heat bluing worked partialy ,(did my agm mp40 with 90percent success, the barrel is aluminum so had to be spray painted also the stock legs are the same! so reworked my maruzen ones to fit!!! looks better.) i have ended up using humbrol metal cote !!! wich looks better ,dont use a brush though ,just rub it in with some cloth! the code for the paint is 27004 if you want to try it ,this stuff polishes with a soft cloth , painted the grips aswell and its looking pretty realistic just got to number it up!! the mag can be cut down to the 10 round look so thats next (gives a better prone proifile) klaus espholt site will show you this (the real steel) will post some pics asap !!!

Does anyone have a guide or something that could help with replacing the Stg spring with something weaker? The rules where we play are 350 fps, so the weapon has to become compliant.

Unfortunatly you will need to know how to disassemble your MP44 and also a Version 2 gearbox. You will want a pdi 150 or 170spring, depending on your desired fps. MP44 DISASSEMBLY: lrrphk.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=airsoftreviews&action=display&thread=225Hope this helps and it's easy if you know how and have the correct tools. If not, please have your airsmith do it for you. It's not easy the first time.

I do not really relish the task, but I have a friend with some machine/engineering experience who is really good at things like this. We will probably have a go at it, with these pictures it should make the task much easier.
