Brian, Airsoft Corner will have supplies there, but if you want to buy a gun or something specific, you need to PM or email Burt and let him know so he can bring it.

IMPORTANT:Food:We will not be providing any food for the event. There will be water available for those who need it. Bring your own food or buy it. There are two sandwich shops right up the road (the food is great at both places, you can get it to go.) Restrooms:We do not have any restrooms at the field, instead there will be a porta john available for use. Staying Warm:Its getting to be in the 30s and occasionally in the 20s up here. I recommend that you all dress or bring things to dress in layers underneath your impressions. One thing I always like to wear is under-armor, but if you don't have that, polypropylene shirts along with sweaters and or/other works too. You also don't want to get too hot that you sweat and become cold, that has happened all too often to me during hunting season. Even if you think your impressions are suited to keep you warm enough, bring extra clothing just in case. The count right now for warming spots is at about 3. We'll have these three fires going on all day, and those occupying the areas where they're located will have to keep them going (we'll have plenty of firewood on hand). There will also be a fire going in the main house. Theres also going to be snow showers sporadically over the course of the week for those of you who wanted snow!! Batteries:Like Biged said earlier in the thread: Batteries don't hold a charge well in cold temperatures. We will have charging stations available but I still recommend that you bring two or more extra batteries as a precaution. I would even advise you to bring a backup weapon if you have one. Yankee has generously decided to bring his .30 cal to the game, so if someones gun goes down, you may be able man it. Defenses:I thought I might mention this now so you know what to put on your packing list. In several locations throughout the field, there will be areas where you can bolster your own defenses. Some spots will be open to foxholes, some others will have sandbags ready to be filled. Some may even have logs you can move to where you need them (that last one is a possibility, but no guarantees.) So those of you that have entrenchment tools, I highly suggest you bring them. This is one of the reasons we recommended people to arrive Friday, that is the day where you will have time to get situated, meet people, and get some of your defenses ready. Make no mistake, there will be people arriving Friday, I highly recommend you come if you have the proper sleeping bags to stay warm overnight. (If you are not into this, please PM me and I can get you the location and telephone number of a nearby hotel). The Friday night atmosphere is something many people loved at the last game. Safety:There will be a safety briefing at the game, we do not have fps limits due to the fact that we have K98s shooting upwards of 500fps. There will however, be minimum engagement rules. This will be explained at the game. ALL PLAYERS MUST have ANSI approved eye protection. Shooting glasses are the most commonly used type of protection, due to the fact that they are low profile. KillsFor this game there will be no medics, just like last time. When you are hit, you will return to the spawn point. Spawn rules will be explained at the game. From my experience, medics cause confusion and arguments between players. We're going to keep it simple. We are in discussion about using red "kill rags" to simulate a bloody hit when a player is "killed." Don't worry about bringing them yourself. If we use them, you will be issued one prior to the game. Friday Night:If we're not too busy Friday night, some of the 3rd FJ will probably be conducting "night maneuvers," and that implying just movement, no actual airsoft play. To do this I would advise you to have a flashlight. Flashlights don't only pertain to the night maneuvers, you do want to be able to get to your cars right? Read: Anyone arriving Friday I recommend you bring a flashlight. There will be a fire going in the house and outside, and there will be tables there if any of you wish to play cards into the night. We do have electricity in both the main house and the garage just so you know. There will be lights on in the garage and the main house, and there is a rather bright light on one of the entrances to the main house that you can see from the road, for anyone arriving at night. And I know I've forgotten something...but hopefully I'll remember it. Anybody who has questions please PM me or ask here, so that everyone can see the answer. Thanks, and have a great weekend everybody.

Are you going to post who is all attending the event soon? I recall that the deal was a week before the game. Oh, I finished my M1A1 Carbine today, so this is the first time it will get some real action. I can't wait.

I've been waiting for a message like this to show up, I'm glad its there. I have one question. Do you have any directions from the nearest highway/major road? I know that mapquest alone has failed me more than once on this type of thing, so a few landmarks or breif directions would help immensly. What our reenacting unit does is put a few "YD" signs on the last few roads on the way there, its suprising how many times guys say "man i would have missed it unless i saw the YD sign". Mabye you could do something like this with WW2AA signs?
I'll be there friday night, if the .30's feed system isn't 100% in ship shape (feeds a LOT better now) then mabye a few of the gearheads there can tweak it with me (it would be very appreciated). I noticed how you mentioned that E-tools are something people need. I have 2, so I'll bring both just so somebody doesn't slack on digging their part;) I also have my carbine that I will use as a backup, so if somebody's gun takes a dump and I don't need my carbine, I'm fine with using it as a loaner.
Warlord if you think there's anything else as far as US gear that you may need, PM me. I'll have a lot of US gear that i'd be willing to let guys borrow, just as long as they're responcible and willing to compensate me fully if it breaks/gets lost at their fault.

Try google maps. They are really pin point on directions and time. I should be there around 2 o'clock on Friday, so I sure as hell will be filling sand bags and digging foxholes not for protection, but for warmth!

Thank you for the offer Yankee, but I'm afraid that I'm a kraut if you didn't notice before But for anyone else in need of US gear, I suggest you drop Yankee a PM, he seems to be very well outfitted. Also, I believe google maps has the best directions to where we are. If you go to Google maps, go to "get directions" at the top near the search bar, then type in your starting address, and your ending address should be this: "4755 RT- 30 Amsterdam, NY" This address will get you right next to the field, to a small strip mall with a pet store and deli, you have to drive JUST PAST this strip mall and turn right onto the road with the red and yellow "Truck entrance" sign. We will mark the road with cones also. If you switch to "satellite view" on google maps, zoom in and you will see the tiny strip mall that the directions take you to. Now move up just a bit and you will see a dirt road turning right off of RT-30, follow that road down and you will come to a wooded area with a large pond. Thats the place. If it helps, Your idea is good, but main road, RT-30 is far too big and has far too much traffic on it to even think about posting signs like that. Plus, I don't want people coming to this event that are not registered. Tens of thousands of cars drive down RT-30 each day. It might be problem.

Ok thanks, I was trying to say that if u knew anybody that needed some stuff and was asking you for it. Feel free to send them on to me. I worded it incorrectly.
Thanks for the directions, most of the places we use the signs for are on non-busy areas that are hard to find (such as the middle of the woods in Kingston), so I see how it wouldn't work for your location.

***UPDATES***
Main House:
We've acquired electric heating for the main house, as well as the fire, so for all who are staying the night, the inside of the house should be very comfortable temperature wise. Bring your sleeping bags or cots!
Other:
Also, the number of "warming spots" throughout the field has increased to four. That means four different fires to fight for control of!
In addition, there will be a small practice range available in the allied supply depot for those of you who wish to test your weapons.
Registration:
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, so if you are arriving Saturday, be there by 7 or earlier. The sun sets early now, we want this game to last as long as possible!
Game start will be about 8:00 a.m. Saturday.
Commanders: German and allied commanders will be announced as soon as the registration count is posted. They will have specific responsibilities and they will also be included. From what I understand, we are to have about the number of people we had for the last game. Not bad for a winter game!
Again, any questions drop me a PM!

Does anyone have an extra pair of shooting glasses, or anything that is low profile? I have ESS Navigators and they are really cool, but they are terrible with M1 helmets, and aren't low profile at all. Also, I don't want to order now, because there are only 6 days until the Event. If anyone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Michael

We'll have extra shooting glasses at the event, I'm glad you asked. They're low profile, and offer very good coverage around the eyes.

Thank you! I used to have a really nice low profile pair that I got from Dick's Sporting Goods a year ago for 5.00, but my local field wouldn't allow them. I swear I had it with my airsoft stuff, but I can't find it anywhere. I must have trashed them. So, Bids!
Thanks, Michael

The count for right now is at: 24I'm holding off on announcing the Allied and German commanders. But thats the count for now! Not bad, seeing as its very cold out!

I just looked at the extended forecast for Amsterdam and must say I couldn't be happier. It looks like great BOTB weather. Low winds, partly cloudy, and cold but not unbearably so temperatures. This is great. This is going to be an early Christmas.
