Hey guys, I am just getting into an allied impression, since my russian one is done, and I was wondering if there were any US retailers who sell 1911s. I am looking for a Western Arms one, but I am tight on budget these days.

Western Arms has just released the "MagnaTech" line of 1911's in an apparent bid to compete directly with the KWA's and HFC's of the world. Western Arms 1911 Military *New* SCW Version 3That link is for WGC Shop, which has it for $120, but I have seen them lower- DenTrinity has them for $107 and UN Company has them for $112, Redwolf has already sold out, so they seem to be an instant hit- Think about it- a WA quality pistol for a little over a Benjamin? I am planning on grabbing one tomorrow night from somewhere to check quality and see if there is any upgrade potential- From the pics I have seen at places such as Toygun Shop Club Michelle More new WA 1911 picsThe outer barrel appears to be plastic, and the gun is certainly lighter (710grams) than the 'standard' WA Military 1911 (870grams) so there is a difference there that could be attributed to increased plastics use- My plan is to see if the gun could be upgraded to the 1911 Military metal frame and slide, making it a very attractive purchase at $100 and some change. Either way, it does seems to represent a great deal since it uses the latest SCW blowback system. -G

Will the new SCW 3 fit with the older magazines?
