JUNE 6TH 2009 AIRSOFT EVENT
Thanks for everyong one who came out to the event. I had an absolute balst. Each scenerio we did was simply great and the level of sportsman ship was great.
The best thing about this event was that there was only ONE AEG!!!!!!! Every single soldier on the field (contrary to the first two photos) was equiped with bolt action rifles!!!!!
This was by far the most accurate WW2 airsoft event I have been too simply for the fact that the there was only one MP-40 in use and it was usually a fearfully deciding factor in movement and fire disapline.
We also had the pleasure of a prototype light weight bunker being used at the event as well.
I was also very pleased to have three MGW Bolt action rifles in use at the event, they performed as expected and added alot to the feel of the event.
We had the new MGW K-98 rifle in use by Frank
I used the M1903A1 Springfield Rifle
And Charlie used a new version of my Lee-Enfield No.4 MKI rifle
Here are a few more pics from the event.
MGW K-98 and new Lee-Enfield No.4 MKI Rifles.
The rest of the guys were equipped with standard unmodified BAR-10 G Spec rifles each one shooting at 400fps. As a group with the exception of the Mp-40 we probably used under 250rnds of ammo for the entire day. Each shot had to be placed and all movements planned and covered. The use of the bolt action rifles completly eliminated the paintsoft spray and pray and caused each memeber of each team to rely on the guy next to him and use alot fo fire disapline.
Also each rifleman only carried 120rns of ammo on him and if anyone ever ran out of ammo they would have to go to am ammo dump to get more. However I dont think anyone except the Mp-40 ever ran out of ammo in any scenerio.
The Mp-40 served as the machinegun and was used very skillfully by the germans to surpress the allied advancements and became a key weapon in thier defense, and also a high priority target.
