Welcome to the forum! Please don't take any offense. This is really a friendly place once you get to know everyone. Your website looks fantastic. I hope I can get my unit to look as good as yours someday.

Hey they have the same problems we have. Across the pond they have that hurry up and can't wait I want it now syndrome. Patience, even the computer can be slooooow. It use to take three weeks for a letter to get to the UK. How about before even that it would take 3 months just to get to the UK by sailing ship. History remember we are into that, read!

armourerdoug: The biggest problem in ur unit is the ranking system. I mean... What the..?
17 members and there is already 4 officers? And so many are NCO's... Who is going to do the dirty work for you?
Fantasy farb. The big tabu in the scene. So many wants to be elite (paratroopers, SS, commandos, ...) and too highly ranked (even if they haven't militarytraining for the rank, or at all in military).
This is just my opinion but I think u guys really should lower those ranks... It's just realistic to have much crew and only few NCO's (with the size of ur team, there even doesn't have to be any officers)
... If we forget this ranking system, it's looking great.

We dont really follow the ranking system. Its just for fun!
I'd be a four star general. if i thought id be taken seriously!
Everyone gets stuck in. No one sits at the back and shouts orders.

Also just regarding Ranks, I think in the UK, a lot of people chose the Sergeant/NCO rank as a Newbie. We're always lead to relate to the sergeant in most films, especially the golden oldies, I think its more of a subconcious thing more than anything. I think what's happened with Dog Co. is that all the lads have played individually at games as NCOs/Officers, and have then formed the team without altering or ahearing to a command structure. From an airsoft point of view, it depends on the game and how you play it, whether you listen to the person in charge, whether the person in charge knows what theyre doing,... so in my opinion it's not the most important thing whether you have more than one cheveron on your arm. The Doughboys play in more tightly themed games, more like re-enactments with bb guns, where you are assigned a rank based on your contribution to the ww2/airsoft/re-enactment scene, and ability to lead. Personally I don't mind being in command, or being bottom of the ass kicking chain!

For example here in Finland re-enact group "Etulinja" (I'm part of this organization) we have somethings which we call "the fear of fantasy farb/officer ranks". We prefer realistic ranking system so most of our members are playing lowest ranks in military. This is funny because almost everyone in our group has served as a conscript in Finnish Defence Forces.... with higher rank than they "play" in re-enactment/airsoft. (couple reservist officers, many NCO's and only couple crewmembers) My real military rank (in Finnish Defence Forces) is Second Lieutenant. I still want to be "Gefreiter" (German Wehrmacht impression) or "Korpraali" ("Private first class" in Finnish army during World War II) in re-enact/airsoft -games. I just don't get the point why someone wants to be higher rank than he really is (without training/experience)? But it's not my problem, and I'm not the person who has right to judge people... Just wondering...? ...(sorry my bad English. Couple of beers makes it so difficult to write )...

Blackburn, off course you will stay as a simple Gefreiter cause you are allways surrendering! That is no way to get promotions and win knight crosses

ViiCii: ....but real soldiers surrendered too when they were in hopeless situation ;( there was not such thing (Wehrmact, 1944-1945) "I am willing to die for my country, for nothing"
