Glad to hear you're OK. I guess they're getting pretty good at handling heart attacks these days. I know a fair number of people who've had them and survived. I guess it's a sign I'm getting old that these are my peers.

At basically 50 years old, after I got out of ICU, I shared a room with a 80 year old Vietnamese man. It doesn’t feel good having these problems so young.
But the man (as I later found out from his son) had spent like 15 years in a Communist prison camp. He had connections with the CIA and when he was released he took his family and fled the country. The only English word he could speak was “OK”. I told the son to thank him for his service!

Othe than the heart attack...how was the wedding? When I got the bills for my two daughters wedding I should have had a heart attack! Glad you're okay. My brother had a heart attack last week and ended up with three stents put in yikes! I guess i'm getting old as it seems health discussions are increasingly the basis of most conversations with my friends and I. Take care Wade.

I toughed it out until I gave my daughter away, it was a beautiful ceremony, my daughter rode her horse in, it was on the ranch over looking the river. But missed most of it. Cost wasn’t bad. We did the decorations and my wife and boys mom did the food and wedding cake. We had the reception in the saloon. Thanks bud, I will do my best. Will know more on the 15th.

I hope you’re well now! You might be good with the stent for quite a long time. I know a friend of my father who got couple like 20 years ago and he is still riding the bicycle - he should be in his late 80’ or beginning of 90 right now. Just, if needed, take the time and put in the other one. All the wealth in the world and power for the nephews to come

Getting old sucks. The alternative sucks worse.

"Getting old ain't for pussies." My dad always said. It's ringing more true with each passing day. Glad you got past " the big one". No doubt there are videos of the wedding when you're up to watching them. My brother had a heart attack then had 3 stents put in last week and is playing golf tomorrow. Incredible!

Very nice! Glad he is doing well!
I may need another stent. Not sure yet. My Insurance canceled my stress test scheduled for today. Go figure. I go in on the 15th and pow wow with my cardiologist.

I enjoyed it. At my age a western impression frankly is more credible as ornery old cusses were part n parcel to what I picture when I think of the old west.

Gabby Hayes, Walter Brennan, Ken Curtis, Dub Taylor and actually my favorite Burl Ives. He also sang Holly Jolly Xmas. Big Country youtu.be/GMiD6PU8SKIIt would also be fun to do cavalryman impressions too. Need to brush up on formations, tactics and bugle calls. Need older officers as well. It would be unique to all of airsoft for sure. Ive decided to turn Camp Basilone (at least the tower, it’s about all that’s left) into a Cavalry fort with stockade.

An authentic Cavalry impression would be very cool. Sadly the costumes from so many of our favoritewesterns showing cavalry are significantly off from reality. The bold gold stripe down the trousers were apparently not correct.

The bold gold stripe down the trousers were apparently not correct. I got a couple of Osprey books. US Cavalry on the Plains 1850-90 The American Indian Wars 1860-90 Both show trousers with yellow stripes and red stripes for artillery. The biggest changes I see is towards the 1900’s they start abandoning the blues for khaki colors. Hats become tan not black. McClellan saddles and boots go from black to brown. In winter Buffalo robe coats are common and other native dress. I think as issued gear wore out and resupply was scarce the men improvised and become “salty”. Buckskin was somewhat common as well at times. So was civilian clothes.

Hmmmm those depictions look very much like we see in the movies. I always liked the look.
