I don't think All Quiet on the Western Front is a boring movie though I have only seen the 1970's remake. What are you expecting Indiana Jones? ;D I think you guys are plugging the barrel while the gun is still firing. Everything takes time. WWI Airsoft won't be 100% at first it will take many decades to get it perfect. Someone just needs to recruit some players and host a game. I am not volunteering though. I am busy enough down here starting WWII Airsoft. But if someone wanted to I am sure they could get something going.

The sad fact is, though many of us are into WW1, it is just NOT a very popular subject to many. It never was. WW2 will always be more popular. Also, it seems if you want to do it, you're going to have to make your own weapons. I really don't see AS manufacturers pumping out Berthiers, G98's and N0. III Enfields and M1917's! And the damn sure aren't going to begin producing any large quantities of Vickers or Maxim HMG's. WW1 blank fire isn't really that popular for the most part. Why would WW1 airsoft be??

It wouldn't be nearly as possible as WWII but it doesn't mean you can't do it. If some of you are that interested why don't you try before saying its impossible. What is there to loose?

The original author had a valid reason to post this, it just went escew on him. I have scrub a dub dubbed it and we are back on track. Silly nonsense will be deleted. Repeat Offenders will be dealt with. That is all, carry on.

Okay back on attack, here are my suggestions.
1. Let's have a WW1 game but keep it WW2 So it's really obvious most of us are not going to get a WW1 impression so how about we do this. Let's make some trenches, make it as best as we can, but keep it with WW2. All rifles Garands, Carbines, must be kept on semi-automatic. Thompsons can be used as machine guns with low cap magazines. Thompsons must have bipods on them and be in a machine gun nest.
How about that?

1. Let's have a WW1 game but keep it WW2 How about we have a WWII game and keep it WWII. And then we have WWI games and keep them WWI. You're suggesting basically what resembles the little backyard WWII games where everyone has Sniper Rifles (if you've heard of them).

If you read the rest of my post, it would of made sense. I think it would make good sense, making a WW1 scenario/battlefield but just using WW2 guns to keep it simple.

nothing to say to airborne that won't get me banned, but still, i think this might be possible, start out with ww2 rifles, small trenches here and there, aegs dressed up like lewis'd or mg08's, it'll catch on eventually, ww2 is still catching on so this could happen

The bottom line is, WW1 is NOT THAT POPULAR! It will NOT catch on! It just won't no matter how hard you try, dream, beg, whatever, its just not!

I don't know about that one. Theres no question that WW1 reenacting is not as big as WW2, however, that isn't to say that there isnt any interest! Theres actually quite alot all over the country (US). It looks like the Great War Association has alot of members and annual events. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zIxtc_8w11E&feature=player_embeddedThis looks like alot of fun!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptGUYmqhU_0&feature=player_embeddedWW1 airsoft is different though. Its going to be very very difficult to organize enough interest, and to be honest, its expensive! I'd love to see this go through though!

We only have 2 events a year, Spring and fall. It is,great fun. But it took almost 30 years to get where it is today. But it still doesn't, and never will gain the popularity that WW2 has.

Ask them if they would be interested in WW1 airsoft Most are older guys who would rather hang out in a trench all day rather than actually do something!

All of you need to consider before posting if your contribution really has any value. If you have a crack for someone do it in a PM. The whole Forum doesn't need to relish in anyones whinning, wise cracking or simply numb responses. I enjoyed reading this thread and pondering and considering what WW1 airsoft might be like but had nothing really to contribute so I didn't.
Unfortunately like so many threads this one digressed to petty wise cracks and snide remarks that constantly had to be cleaned up. Some of you folks need to step into the G-2 office and take a few deep breaths.

sorry i get caught up in joking smetimes, anyway, slick 63 gave me an idea he psted about an indoor ww1 paintball field in the UK, now if we made something similar, minus the paintball of course, where we could control lighting, weather and terrain, i've been brainstorming this for a few days i'll post ideas as i get them
