sorry i get caught up in joking smetimes, anyway, slick 63 gave me an idea he psted about an indoor ww1 paintball field in the UK, now if we made something similar, minus the paintball of course, where we could control lighting, weather and terrain, i've been brainstorming this for a few days i'll post ideas as i get them Here's an idea, if you want your WW1 fix, do blank fire. As I've mentioned,it is a blast, and then you can see if it will work in AS,which I contend, will not, but hey... WW1 paintball??? WTF??

#1 reason why it wouldn't work: No PPSH41s with 11.1v lipos.

hey fusilier, don't you have to be 18 to go to blank events? As a combatant yes. But there are non combat impressions such as the Red Cross or other things to do. I gather you're too young..

Yup, been there done it! Also, a lot of guys, particularly some of the French, tend to cut out Sat. night.

Oh you brought back memories as I have been out to Newville several times. Only problem is it's over 12 hours away to the east. Now they do have some trenchs up in Cheesehead land. That is only a couple hours north across the Chedder Curtain.

There is no problem with WWI airsoft, and it's the "Great War". The first event will be in June. This period will be more fun than what the Blankburners do. When they see this they will love it even more.

You probably know me as "TooTall". I'm converting the WWIIAA guys to WWI. We all have so much fun doing WWII that it will carry over to WWI. They are on board for the fun and the event ideas. We look at doing both formats at all the sites. " It's alive and well"

Gonna be hard to beat blank fire. WW1 events are probably THE most authentic of all the blank fire periods. And its a lot more than the shooting.Thats a small part of it. Its living in the trenches, doing night raids, the gas, indirect fire weapons etc.
Good luck.

Nobody is trying to beat blank fire reenacting. Your right in that the "Great War" is one of the most authentic periods done. Also that there is a lot more involved. That's the beauty of it! We can fit right in and they, the blankburners, can join in as well. Put the a GWRS along side a WWIAA guy and you can't tell the difference. Only the guns and they look the same! The only thing missing is the rifle report and I can do without that. Everything else is the same! It's the same for WWIIAA, I know because I'm a WWIIHRS member and have been for over 25 years. Airsoft is just the new elvalution, progress!

And you're gonna see it with AS, guys spraying plastic all over the place using mega hi-cap mags. But,like in other things AS, we will have "no hi-cap" events eventually, and the authenticity level will get there,at some point. Event organizers have to be the point men here and adhere to set authenticity standards. THAT is how you get a great event, not having 200 guys with AK's wrapped in burlap, or in semi WW2 or WW1 uniforms. You will get a good group of guys with really good impressions, and THAT is how you have a great event. I don't need to tell you, you've been around longer than me, but you know where I'm coming from.

I was all set to sell all my WW1 stuff when someone on here started pulling me back in, to do a unit I've always wanted to do! For blank fire, not AS!

I have no issue with Blankfire whatsoever and we often combine the two at local events BUT if I may remind you all this is an Airsoft forum. I really don't want to see this thread degrade into a "which is better" discussion.

I'm slowly putting my Imperial German impression together (after selling it all in college) and have a beater G98 that's begging for conversion to a springer. Just wondering if you're going early/mid/late war.

I wish they could combine Blank Fire and Airsoft... maybe put a couple of grains of gunpowder then stick an airsoft round at the begining of the shell (trying to keep the FPS to 300-400) . I think i may try this out (maybe someday i'll start a business selling gunpowder airsoft) then you can do blank fire and not have to worry about people being "invincible".

gunpowder and projectiles are a bad idea. It has been discussed here before and the thread was deleted as I recall.
