I met some awesome guys that do British Marines for blank fire a few weeks ago and they got me really wanting to do a brit impression. Plus, Sten guns and Enfields are awesome.

I picked up a Longbranch No.4MkI(paid 115 bucks for it) for blankfire and started putting together a generic kit for infantry. But I'm going to also do a 9th Para and one of the Commando units, for both airsoft and blankfire so those are going to get the full attention to detail job. The same place I got that No4 also had a No1.MkIII for $135 so I can use that for different times and places.

I noticed that 'allied' on here generally means 'American' but havent really said much as being in UK it doesnt affect me and i really participate in the Axis discussions more.
If anyone wants any help doing a Brit loadout i'm more than happy to help and suggest decent suppliers and contacts.

I've been following what you've(Gadge) been posting in AI. That has been a help and I've also hit the other sites for info. I would like to see more here aswell, but everybody wants to be 101stAirbourne or Ranger(too many movies), which is why I'll never do a US impression just too many doing that already.

Rumours of a springer enfield next year. We already have a decent sten.
Bren could be tricky outside custom builds

It would have to be scratch built, the kits are getting hard to find and if found are shipped to a guy in Georgia to be built in semi-auto for real bullets...but one can still dream about a Bren

Funny you mention "popping over"! The wife and I are planning a trip and one of "my" plans is to get with you guys and have a weekend(she's going to stay and shop with my Aunt's family) of play. I'll have to rent but that'll be ok by me, I'll pack a small kit

Yes I do a Para impression. I'm the second from the left. Big surprise considering my handle and avater eh? LOL. Gordak mentioned there might be a few Brits at Schlacht im Hürtgenwald Autumn'44. I won't be attending since I'm on the West coast. However I'm moving to CT in Dec. and i will hopefuly get some interest from others in forming a Para company.

Looking good Broad Arrow but you need to get some blanco on that webbing! I admit I'm a blanco coward. Putting blanco on pristine P37 webbing is daunting, but I'm prepared to do it. That said trying to find the right blanco has been difficult. WPG sells Terrago shoe cream no 34 (Olive Green) and I've found a source for the Citadel Catachan Green to mix in. Citadel is acrylic paint so I'm leary of getting the it wrong. Wish I had some real blanco to color match it to. Do you have any recomendations for blanco? Have you tried the SOF stuff? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Erm i've not tried any of the repros, i used to have three or four blocks of blanco and im down to a block and third that im hoarding now! Folk have had mixed results, a good site to look at is this: www.blancoandwebbing.co.uk/One thing you dont want to use is the post war blanco that comes in a waxy block, thats stuff horrible and will wreck your webbing. I wouldnt worry too much about the shade it starts off very dark and with wear gets paler. a freshly done set after a few months use it goes like the webbing in my above pic. I imagine mixed with paint it wil retain its shade which is probably a good thing.

Your webbing looks very good indeed. Studied this site extensively, but thank you still. I imagine mixed with paint it wil retain its shade which is probably a good thing. blancoandwebbing suggest the Terrago shoe cream no 34 (Olive Green) and Citadel Catachan Green. It seems like a real witches brew to me and I am not sure of the long term effects. The shoe cream will probably fade and the acrylic paint won't. Heaven knows what it will look like after time. It concerns me. I'm thinking of trying the SOF blanco. Oh and you probably know this anyway but dont blanco stuff not on personal issue like map cases, bino cases, sten bandoliers and bren valise... they all stayed raw. I was aware of this. Does it apply to pistol holster, pistol ammuniton and compass case as well? Also I've read that you do NOT blanco on the side of the webbing that is in contact with your BD's, is this correct? Again, thank you for your help.

Ive always wanted to do a Brit impression. Shame most people in NE play Americans. Well I'm moving to out to Connecticut on Dec. 1. I will be working in Stamford. I want to start a Para company. Interested? I would expect the usual. Great attention to detail, honorable play and perhaps the most important; a good sense of self deprecating humor. We can work up a bloody good impression, hammer the huns and effect the most awful, poorly done, British accents and slang on the field of battle. What more could you desire?

Blanco all items that woudl be issued to you to keep. for officers and driver etc this includes the pistol holster ammo pouch and bino case. Stuff taken from sotres for the duration of an operation wouldnt be. So for example you'd have you own isue of webbing and gaiters but a pair of binos given to you for a recce mission on a strapped case wouldnt be blancoed but a pair attached to an officers webbing would. You're not supposed to blanco the bits that come into contact with your bd but most of us do, its near impossible to keep the stuff off! I also think it looks neater. Best to practice both the paint mix and thesof type on an old pouc or strap i reckon. If you're struggling to get 37 pat over your way PM me and I'll try and get a couple of raw crsss braces posted to you to practice on as the are about 50 cents a piece here! (might take me a week or two to order them though)

Someone (AGM?) needs to make a non-fiddly Enfield. Can't have everyone running around with stens. Simply won't do. :-)

Does anyone know where to find a reasonably priced British Army Officer's Peaked Cap? I have spent the better part of an hour looking, but have not really managed to find anything. The retailer needs to ship to the US.

The retailer needs to ship to the US. Do what price glory not stock them? What impression do you want it for? They are pretty rare to see in the field post Overlord. the GS beret or tam o shanter replaced the peaked cap as officers headgear for all but very senior ranks in the field and most officers aquired khaki berets.
