So far, so good! I like to use automotive spray primer to fill the grain on wood I want to make look like metal.

Oh awesome!!! I think the Sten has been long over due, I always thought some company-Hudson probably-would make a gas verison much like the Grease Gun. Here is an idea, what if someone took a AGM MP40, convert it abit into a AEG Grease Gun? Just an idea, and can't wait to see how this project turns out.

Looking good!
Switching to deans connectors will save on some space. You should be able to squeeze out 100+ feet with some fine tuning. If you can, float your inner barrel & hopup with a spring so that it pushes back towards the gearbox. That should increase airseal, range, fps. If you can't (by design) rebound/float the inner barrel make sure the inner barrel & hopup is pressed tightly up against the gearbox. Shortening the inner barrel down to "long barreled pistol length" may also help.
I had heard rumors at the field that someone tuned & upgraded an AEP to shoot 360 fps.

That looks great and seems simpel enough to make. I may try may hand at one of these over Christmas break. Along with the Grease Gun I am intending to build also.

Looking lovely, Slick. Nicely formed mag well. Can we see a pic from the rear with the stock in situ? Just curious to see how the stock is held in place....

I think that this sten is a great concept gun, it has proven that it is very possible to make one of these very easily and make it look very very good too. I personally cant wait to start mine now. I first have to find a good loaner AEG to work from.

Hey, that looks awesome! It looks even more rough & simple than the real Sten and that makes it quite a kickass, "no bullapplesauce " -type of gun. Come to think of it, that's probably what Sten was supposed to look like. ;D

Wow, looks like it came out very well. It could use the other piece on the stock, and a wee bit of touch up work (not too much though, it is a sten afterall) Mabye spray paint it a dark grey, I haven't seen a sten that looked black before. Once again GREAT JOB.

It looks like an UMP mag. What did you use for a magazine catch?

Its an MP40 mag, there`s no mag catch as the mag is a fairly snug fit in the magwell, banged it on the bench a few times and it didn`t drop out. As this was just a cheap project for my grandaughter I didn`t go too mad. I`m hoping to knock one up in steel in the future with a better gearbox.
