Just finished another premier for Baltic Summer. I wanted to try this for awhile but have been busy with other projects and am really pleased that I finished it. This is my favorite gun for now. Like my bio says on MOA. It has as its main part an AGM MP-40 upgraded with a steel spring guide and a M110 spring (1-step above the stock spring). I have an 8.4 V mini and (2) 9.6 V mini batteries. It really cooks with the 9.6 volt batteries and is wicked but maybe not so realistic as its rate of fire is like twice historical with the 9.6 V battery. I will trade for the slower battery with my unit members or Russians with PPsh-41s as for them the higher rate of fire is cool. The mag pouches are Grigsby. The gun was stripped and repainted silver and then painted black again and I think it turned out pretty nice. Like I said, I am happy with it. It looks a little more like a TOP body now. Tomorrow when I open her up again I plan to darken some metal in the right places on the gear box. Some places you can see the silver gear box and that won't do. It doesn't open up as easy as the MP-40's. When my battery dies I need to get out an allen wrench and loosen the back and then the gun swivels open enough to change the battery. No switch and no fuse either. No room for them. No selective fire either. But everything is forgotten when you pick it up. The ergonomics are amazing. Much better than the MP-40. This gun is handy as heck. I can't wait to use it on a Russian. : : Now if I can just get one of the MP-41 labeled magazines they sent Garrick. Those are MP-40 mags that are labeled MP-41 mags from AGM. Pretty cool mistake. I could use one of those for pictures with this Schmeisser. Here are the pouches with some saddlesoap. Nice change.

It looks gorgeous. What did you use for your base stock or did you simply make it from scratch?

Gryphon - yes it will be with me on Sunday. You'll have the pleasure then. ;D 2nd Bat - the trigger guard was purchased here ioinc.us/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD& but the site isn't coming up so maybe they went bye-bye and stock was purchased on gunbroker or ebay (I forget which) They are both real steel old parts I've had this on my bench for awhile and was going to use it with my SS impression but since we went Heer I'll have to make up some story about taking it in battle.

Very nice. I have often thought about building one of those too! I watched a movie (Lucie aubrac) recently where the police had MP-41's.

This is a pretty easy build. The only touchy part is making sure the gearbox is set in the wood stock so that the nozzle is in-line and close to the barrel. Again, anyone with a welder, (or liquid metal), a dremel and patience can try this one. Thanks for all the kind comments fellas.

Doh! only just noticed this one. Another Fantastic job EJ, looks the business ;D. Only the barrel nut gives it away as not being a R.S. not an easy thing to fix without a good lathe though id have thought? Its also a real shame you couldnt keep the select fire option as thats what set apart the R.S MP41 from the MP40 Very interesting to hear that the ergonomics are much better than the MP40, I wouldn't have though that would be the case. Are the MP41 stocks easy to come by? I would mind having a bash at this conversion myself. BTW the mag pouches look 100% better with the saddle soap, must go out and get some

I thought the same, personally I like pistol griped weapons better.
But I do say thats a killer MP41, I too would hate to be a russian. How many weapons are in the Ersatz Brothers armory now? You guys must have enough to equip a whole gruppe.

Well it never hurts to have a few weapons. ;D We all know how dependable they are. Not! My rifles haven't let me down and the AGM MP-40 is a workhorse. The MP-40 that my brother has is a bit more finicky with the PGC gearbox but it has served him well at an event and I finally think I have the kinks worked out of the Shoei MP-44. It is reliable now with one complete gaming day under its belt but still a heavy burden to carry all day. The MG-42 Ultima is ready too for what I hope will be a great skirmish on 27 Sep 08 (Operation Doppelkopf). Oh and a gas pistol makes ummm.. 1, 2, 3, 4.... seven! Not out of control yet I think. Nine once the G43 and the MG-34 get finished. They do come in handy to loan out and when a gun acts up. Personally anyone who makes a trip without a backup gun is risking disappointment. Hey does a panzerfaust count as a gun? What about a PAK38? ;D As far as the Russians go, they won't have any trouble. Those PPsh-41's carry 200 bbs and fire faster. Soon I suspect there will be a nice SVT-40 kit for upgrading an AGM-M14 and then that just spells more trouble. I still think there are some others on this board that put me to shame in the guns owned department. I'm a big fan of Frank Sinatra though and like his quote about "he who dies with the most toys wins."

I had the opportunity to hold this gun last weekend and it is BRUSTEN! As a PPSh-using German, I really appreciate a wooden stock in a sub. The MP-41 feels entirely better than an MP38/40. Very nice workmanship too.

Since Charlie went and stickied this I thought I would show a bottom view and also the improvement. My machinist friend took the barrel nut on this and rounded it out for me as Boshman on the these boards suggested. The MP-41 did not have the hex shaped nut but it was rounded. I think this is as close as I can get given the construction of the gun. The MP-41 magazine is for pictures. Thanks Garrick. I leave it for someone else to figure out the semi-auto feature.

Wow! If you took that conversion a step further I can see it working into a Berreta 38, if theres anyone out there who wants to do an Italian impression.
