I just had a thought. Those of us that do blank fire, have our annual Ft. Indiantown Gap event at the end of January. I think we should hook up at some point during the weekend to maybe discuss future AS events, and possible recruiting. This is also a great event for guys in the area, around Harrisburg/Hershey, PA, to come do some shopping for any gear you may need, and to just check out the WW2 scene. You can easily do one stop shopping for ALL your uniform needs, minus the weapons of course. I know I will be in a unit with at least one or 2 guys from here in a Luftwaffe Kampfgruppe. Anybody else going? Its also a good place to put faces to names and meet people you see on here on a daily basis. You can even meet me,and you may see that I'm not the big meany as I'm portrayed on here! So come on out!

I'll tell someone in person if they have the wrong piece of kit,and will help them replace it, or where to get something. I WANT people to look the part, not a caricature of a soldier, because,as and ex soldier,I find it offensive to see the uniform worn wrong,or long hair etc. Sorry, off my soapbox!

This isnt a bad idea, I know toy guns, (including airsoft guns) are banned from fig.
Ive thought about running a table at the flea market to push ww2 airsoft, I might set up and sell this year, If I do, I might work ww2aa in somehow. registration cut off is the 7th.

You can bring guns to display, just not sell. Get a big banner or something and a flea market table and hang out all weekend. I can almost guarantee you'll you'll have a lot of people interested.

sounds like a jolly good time...anyone round here interested in an event me and Pete are trying to organize in southern Virginia? If we can get the blackwater employees to drop their balls than we might have a small kursk event in July. It would be good for any Eastern Front FJ(eventhough there were olny like three or four FJ units in russia , Heer, SS, Russian Guard and Rifle Divisons. Theys pretty big on Modern airsoft but business is slow enough and theres enough time to get an event set-up this summer. The olny bad part is we have no tanks And if this fails there is always time enough for caucasus Reply and PM if you have ideas or intreast!!

Yes, Saturday is open to the public and you will see all sorts of people wearing strange mixes of WW2 uniform and modern civvies. I am still haunted by a vision of a guy wearing a treebark camo jacket, dockers, leggins w/black reeboks, and some German wool cap ahile he was trying to hit on Gina at the ATF table......

I always thought it would be a good idea to have a table that could showcase WW2 airsoft weapons and perhaps demonstrate them but in the past there simply wasn't an impressive enough selection of affordable stuff. I think now with the MG 42 MG 34, PPSH, MP 40, MP 44, BAR and Thompson with a few customs thrown in you could get folks attention. A ggo photo montage from some quality events (maybe some video) and I suspect you might hook a few folks who would otherwise never even consider airsoft.
Jump to Destiny last year was close to 50/50 with regard to reenactors/ airsofters most of whom got hoodwinked in by their unit leaders only to discover they had a great time. The awsome thing about reeanctment units is they are sophisticatedly self sustaining with lots of extra gear, tentage, cooking gear and support material. They generally don't have a clue about tactics and way too many of them just want to hang out and look cool but there are lots of airsofters who fall in that category as well.
