Since there isnt a established Heer unit in Central Illinois I am thinking about starting one. We would be a basic Infantry unit. My only requirement is you have to be over 21 and serious about your impression. Those interested please contact me,im in the Springfield area.

Don't limit yourself to just over 21. Some of the best guys out here are under 21. Make the cutoff age to 16 and you will get more guys interested in your unit and the hobby. 16 they can own and use the guns in the field and if they look the part why not.

What Heer unit is this group going to be dutch? If setting up a group becomes too much work and if you don't mind a road trip up north you can come to one of the Midwest Ostfront games. www.ostfrontairsoft.com/ Either way we are always welcoming for new and old players alike.

I havent decided yet on a specific unit. Just a normal straight leg unit. How far north are you all? Im 3 hours south of Chicago. Which is kinda the reason for starting my unit so I dont have to drive to far.

We host games in Minnesota and Wisconsin in different locations. The address and event dates are all located in the event section or on the website itself. 3 hours South of Chicago you say, it would be a pretty long drive for you then. Again hope this all goes good for you and thank you for going with regular army I know it has been said already enough but there seems to be too many elite units and SS.

If you want to do WW2 airsoft in the Midwest you have to be prepared to drive, that is if you want to play with more than five palyers ;D I am in St. Louis and driving to the games in Wisconsin and Minnesota is worth the drive and par for the course. BTW we are in the planning stages of doing WW2 airsoft in the St. Louis area keep an eye out here in the events section

From that far south you probably will be able to achieve the required escape velocity to break through the IL/WI border.

Who knows, that is why we call it beyond the chedder curtain. You are in the middle! With new games/events in St. Louis and up here in the Joliet area you will not have to travel that far in the near future. I'm only four hours away from St. Louis and you are alot closer, about an hour and a half away. Keep watching for the events up here as you know you are more than welcome. I'm watching for the events down in St. Louis. But to get back to your unit I wish you the best of luck and look forward to meeting you. Suggestion, link up with guys in the area wanting to do a allied impression. Always a good idea to have equal sides.

Most guys are not members of a particular unit. I'm still looking for a US unit. I had been one of the Band Wagon of Brothers at the start. Now I just want to be an average GI. So the moral to the story is just do the average soldier and you will fit in. The unit thing will happen soon enough. Start out being the best average soldier that you can be in authenticity. Less rank the better. No worries mate!!

Sounds like a good idea. I didnt know the protocal on showing up alone. I know in the blank firing reenacting its frowned upon for a single guy to just show and jump in. I did join a blank firing Heer unit, just looking for airsoft now. My impression is that of a lonely no-rank Landser. Those guys that show up with all the medals doing thier best Sepp Dietrich impression are funny and scary at the same time. IMHO
