Wow,would be cool,but Hollywood would have to add a love interest,and tons of crap that never happened,to make it "compelling!" They did that to BoB,and other modern War movies.
I'd love to see this though.

Looks like an excellent story, if it's done right.
It actually sounds a little bit like a short story I read back in high school, many years ago., "The Rifles of the Regiment". I forget the author, but I believe it was written during the war. The storyline was a British unit retreating to the coast. As they lose men the colonel insists they take the rifles with them. During the retreat the colonel has to wrestle with continuing to fight or surrender. When they reach the coast, they find a destroyer waiting, but they're trapped on top a cliff. So they hook together the rifle slings and use them to climb down the cliff. I would imagine the story was inspired by stories like Major Grant's.
