At the moment, I am almost done with casting a STG-44 Realcap magazine (just finish polishing, mounting the internal mag and painting it), and i was thinking of selling them, in order to provide those who don't have the time to make their own a chance to have real cap magazines for the STG-44 (and to further fund my innovations). To prevent a "MGW" incident (since, with my schedule, it could happen), for those who care, if i decide to sell, i will only list up magazines that i am ready to ship out, and wont sell any "to be made" magazines.
Either way, the magazine would consist of a plastic resin sandwich, two halves mated together, with magazine internals embedded inside, for simplicity. For the real cap magazines, i am using airsoft shotgun shells, for 50 round magazines, i can use DE G36 Magazine internals, for midcaps, i would have to use probably m16 or AK74 magazine internals, and that is the reason for the price difference. The reason for the poll is to gauge where the main interest lies, in having a larger capacity at a higher cost, or being willing to reload a little more, and have a lower cost. Keep in mind, the price may change a little bit (shipping will probably be extra), but probably not too much (i did a rough calculation on the price of resin+internal mag+time to figure what the cost would be).
Pictures of a finished real cap will be up some time tomorrow, probably after ~5 PM Pacific, as I am going airsofting in the morning
The price of real cap and low cap magazines for most guns has really come down and the caliber of play their use creates makes the investment well worth it. When low cap use is encouraged and commonplace at events, players typically never want to go back to hi-caps and spray and pray events.
Stalin should have known communism wouldn't work. There were red flags everywhere!"
I only use real cap magazines on my weapons , the only one that is not real cap is my MP40 .
Agreed. I try to stay as real as possible but you know when there is some fat kid with an M4 grenadier, holographic sight, 12 volt battery(1200 RPM), laser, and Hi-cap 800 round magazine I want some sort of advantage...Wheres my hammer and sickle?
Well, i am a little late, but better late than never i guess. This one is the prototype, (but i am putting up the picture to prove i am not totally hawking vaporware) and i forgot to grease the mold, so it pulled some of the mold out, which is why some parts look a little "funky." I will post pictures (hopefully soon) of one that doesn't have the "texture" I can make another mold but college started, so progress on actually turning these out is going to be slow
As well, I agree with everyone, like i said, personally I would just make real-caps, but i wanted to see if there was going to be an overwhelmingly negative response to making realcaps.
I agree with 2nd bat. I've always loved the idea of real caps. it's more realistic, and teaches you really good firing patterns. Just never have had the money to buy them. ha
If you want real capacity magzines, just load 30 BBs in the magazine! You don't have to buy special magazines for that. If real time action is desired for battle, just keep a supply of plastic pill bottles, each filled with just 30 BBs and refill your magazine while in battle. That is what the real soldier had to do so make it as realistic as possible.
Every problem can be solved through the proper application of explosives, duct tape, teflon, WD-40, or any combo of the aforementioned items.

CPL. Mills 2nd Rangers: Hiki Shop quality is passable, there are better quality out there but if you want to through together an impression quick and on the cheap they are the way to go. I bought my Heer pants from them.

suomifinn: Hikishop is legit. I use them for my Finnish impression. Some of the stuff can be off in terms of accuracy, easily fixable though. For the price it's hard to beat. Great for more obscure countries.

Dracul: It looks like it lost a lot of steam and I now feel bad for randomly dropping off.

stuka: I mean it's not your fault. It is interesting though that things are falling off as we are finally getting our ww2 guns with the type 38/96 and the enfield as well as it recieving a new loading system, it's kind of unfortunate

Dracul: I don't know, maybe its because all the guns are becoming available, there is a decreasing need for the forums.
Jun 16, 2018 16:29:26 GMT -5
Dracul: Most of the talk was about making guns, as all the uniform info was already out there, but now the weapons are out there and are usually decent quality.

stuka: well the forum is and should still be useful for updates on guns, creating groups/events and building kits

Cpl. Hicks: I haven't been here in years, but I'm glad to see this forum is still kicking! So much great info on here.

savoy6: anyone know if anyone still carries the enfield?
Jul 15, 2018 18:47:08 GMT -5
Dracul: I think Redwolf has a Enfield. If not or not longer, then not until G&G releases theirs. The old gas Iron Airsoft brand SMLE isn't carried by anyone anymore and was such piece of crap. Not worth trying to track one down.
