Damn! Thats the Reading Airshow WW2 Weekend! From the How to help Event Organizers Thread - Quote Ersatzjack - "When an event is posted, try to be supportive. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything. Events need positive scuttlebutt to get folks interested. If you can contribute positive information do so. Things which are not viewed well by organizers are the "I wish I could come" comments or worse, the public notification that you can't attend for this and that reason. Negative vibes man, and that can be better handled via PM. No one usually cares if you can't make it because you have another engagement." Quote kken - "also big ups to not posting if you can't come. guess what? that does NOTHING to help GOs even if you say hope it goes well. nothing is more demoralizing to a GO than to read that people don't come. if you can't make it, then don't post that. a lot of smaller GOs will outright cancel events because of bad moral/attendance online. personally, i put a date up publically, i will run that event even if four guys show up. i never make threat to cancel if more people don't register, etc etc but others will and have cancelled events."

For what it is worth, I did not think your comment was offensive or derogatory. I agree slamming is never a good thing but discussion and comments never hurt. Helps keep the topic alive which hopefully will translate into great attendance for the event

Bob, Scrap Reading for one year! It will be the same as every other year. We need all Germans at this event! we need to have a presence at this event. It will be well worth it. I like Reading too but it will be like it is every year.... Park us as far away as possible, hump your gear in 90 degree heat, beg for ice and watch the same 12 planes as last year make laps and if we are really, really lucky we will get to see a fake STUKA or even better form a "keep out" skirmish line for a Storch leaking aviation fuel and do it all without even a "Thank you"! Think about it man! I vote on the Brecourt event!~ -G

Oh yeah! I left those things out! Wait and what about the A-Hole event workers? Yeah forgot about those didn't ya?
No GI we have plenty of them! We need good Germans to set examples and help the new guys out as well as good combat leaders! Please rethink your impression choice! -Gerry

Ah GI is waaaayy overated! ;D Well if we want to be historicaly correct we can impersonate the No. 6 Battery of the 90th Artillery Regiment of the 91st Luftlande division (previously the 91st Infanterie division) which was the regiment that was running those guns on D-Day! In addition the 6th parachute regiment was also part of this division. Heer, Luft field Artillery or Fallschirmjager would be my choices leaning towards the Heer. Apparently the crew that was initially assigned to this battery deserted during the night of airborne landings. -G

We can always use some SS soldiers there will be lots of villagers to interrogate and to try to identify the French resistance members. And it sounds like that reading show doesn't appreciate your efforts. I think you Germans will definitely enjoy sitting in a French cafe and steering suspiciously at the villagers.

In answer to your question, anyone can sign up to be a villager this is a non combat role playing position and would be good for anyone who does not have the military impression but would still like to be involved with the game. Signed piper

Bob, I don't think you have ever met piper318 (Mark) He is a great guy and pays attention to authenticity and details. If I know him, this will be probably the best WW2AA event ever held in the Northeast. Better than Rhineland or the Amsterdam event and in my opinion those were good events. Lets give him our total support on this! -G
