I have a 1915 dated 1903 Springfield, used by a marine throughout WWII, and I got it for free. I found it in an old gun safe at our house. Its valued at $1,500-1,800.

Thompson! Don't own one... but favorite to shoot. ha ha. Favorite one that I own, the M1 carbine. I love it. Don't remember how much I paid, got it at a gun shop locally. It's a '43 inland.

We own an old Garand from 1945, but I love shotguns.

the M1 garand that we own is dated back to 1945. It is valued at $2000 bucks. But we got it from a guy at $600. Great gun, has a little kick but not bad.

My favorites are the M1 Garand and the M1 Carbine. I don't own any of them though(airsoft or real). I will be making an AEG M1 Garand soon though.

M1 Garand. BY FAR!!! Would be my weapon of choice for any era. As the Sergeant Major in We Were Soldiers said, "The m16 feels like a Damn BB gun to me." Bear with me if that is not the exact quote, for i do not own the movie. But yeah, Garand all the way, along with my favorite piece of military gear/equipment of all time, the M1 Helmet.

petermartin, ur awesome. We have a M12 Shotgun(civilian) made in 1941. It is the best pump out there. I have harvested tons of ducks with it. I also pumped a doe in our decoys not too long ago.

Given that the Garand, BAR, and 1903 are all RIFLES I would have to say the 155mm Long Tom Howitzer. (Lol!) Not surprisingly I voted for the Garand!

I voted for the M1 Carbine. Always liked it. I have one I assembled from parts on a new receiver back in the '70's.
Also have an M1 Garand, marked Springfield, with a serial number for Jan. 1944. I don't know the history, but I bought it in the '90's when Garands were being reimported from China. It had a mix of obviously new parts, but the barrel was pretty bad. I'm assuming it was either given to the Chinese during WWII or captured by them in Korea.

Johnson Rifle, only because it wasn't listed. However by the poll I go with the good ol' Garand.

Reising, yaaay! ...no? Well then probably the Garand The Reising is one of those "I coulda been a contender" guns. It had the misfortune to go straight into some of the worst operating conditions of the war. If Eugene Reising had designed it in the mid'30's instead of 1940, and had time to refine it to be less susceptible to jamming it would have been a great weapon. Almost as light as a carbine, but much better knockdown power.

Well technically the M50 was designed as a carbine intended for Law Enforcement use , but the lack of lightweight automatic weapons at the beginning of the war forced the M50 to be used by the Military , it was never meant to be used in a battlefield .

I have a 1942 dated M1 Garand from the springfield armory. My dad bought it like 20 years ago before I was born and the barrel was completely rotted out there wasnt even much rifling left. He wanted it to last me for my life and my kids lives so he had the stock glass bedded (because it was so rotted out) and a new dougles barrel put on and it is now super accurate and my favorite gun in our safe.
but my other favorite gun is a BAR and my nieghbors have one and it is SO sweet
