I can see where you could make that mistake, but if you'll look at the bolt handle you'll see it's not a Ross, though it is in fact a straight-pull.

Winchester Model Lee 1895, U.S. rifle You got it. The M1895 Lee Navy Rifle, 6mm, adopted by the Navy and Marine Corps and used in the Spanish-American War. The 1880's-1890's were an interesting period in small arms development.

Is that that gun that shoots the bullets at people? I'm sorry I just had to, the idea popped into my head and I needed to get it out.

I don't even know where to start looking on this one. It looks like it's mostly made of wood. It's not wood , it's similar to Bakelite , the weapon was manufactured by a company that had no previous history of making firearms.

Are you waiting for a formal surrender on this one? If no one's found it by now, I don't think it's going to be found.

It's been almost a weeks and only a couple of you seemed interested in guessing the name of it , so i'll give you the answer.
It's the Greek CHROPI assault rifle designed by Sotiris Sofianopoulos from the Chropei chemicals company in 1975 , the idea was to provide Greece with a home designed weapon , it fired the standard NATO 7.62x51mm round and it used M14 magazines in 20 or 30 round capacity , the weapon was tested by the Hellenic Armed Forces but not accepted , the G3 was instead chosen as the new wepon for Hellenic Forces. About 24 or so rifles where manufactured and tested , of this about half survived the testing and where sent to a storage armory where they are supposed to still be at today.

I think Adler gets the award for the most obscure weapon. That was a good one.
