Ten-Hut!!- Welcome to the WW2AA "Stitch-Knot-See" picture thread! Please participate and share with us your outstanding impression images! This section is meant as the 'showplace' for your Allied uniform and impression images. We want to continue the strong WW2AA tradition of active member participation and give you a place to show off not only your hard work at creating an excellent, correct impression, but also your ability to 'tell a story' through pictures about your character, your unit, or an event that you have attended. However, what military activity would be complete without some rules?! So here they are: Stitch-Knot-See images must be: -In focus: Exceptions to this rule would include photographs specifically attempting to mimic original period photos, as often they were not in sharp focus due to the equipment of the day or action- However unless you are editing the image to black and white using photoshop or a graphics editor for that exact purpose, they need to be sharp. -Contain no "anachronisms": I.e., photo's taken in your backyard and you can clearly see the AC unit next to the house, or your buddy Josh standing next to you holding a skateboard... Remember, these images are supposed to be your 'best work' at creating your impression, your 'character' and allow you to show off your work- Please don't let yourself or us down! Well, that's pretty much it for rules, they aren't to difficult to understand or deal with I don't think. Ok, so you have your assignments- Now get out there and start taking pictures!! Slainte! -G

I think I might try my hand at some more combate scenes for this new thread, this time though I plan on getting dirty, maybe smearing some mud on my face, knees, elbows, arms, you know all the ares on a uniform and person that would get reall dirty during battle, I really disliked how clean and cut I looked.
Plus 90% of all combate pics you see are rarely posed photos.

Great shots of you and Kevin!
I have to say though, the Photoshop treatment you put those photos through gives me a headache : \

Yeah I attempted to make a sepia tone to it but went a little crazy with the red and didnt feel like changing it back even though it would take a second.

There was color phography in WW2 (though quite limited due to handling challenges) I actually liked the pictures better in their normal color form. Thanks for the nice plug by the way. You guys look great. I love the blowing on hands and body language suggested in the pictures. The kit is terrific and the background adds a lot. Love seeing the garand and Carbine.
From a technical point of view the 48 star flag on an M-41 was done in the North African campaign and some still remained by Scicily but wouldn't have been likely in a winter setting such as the Ardennes.

Well technically my impression is way off for the Winter. The 325th had been issued M1943s by the time of Market Garden. So I attempting to get some M1943s before the Long Winter. Also need some Corcorans...Help anyone?

What size corcorans? And dependent on the size of M43s check eBay. I just saw a mint unissued M43 jacket go for $10 the other day!
I think your impression looks really good. I only wish we could get some snow down here in Illinois... I've got a bunch of period cold weather gear and while it is getting colder its not any fun without snow! lol

For the Corcorans I need size 9.5-10
The M43s I have seen a lot of times on ebay go for cheap. I wear 38R so still a pretty small size.
Thanks for the compliment!

Yeah they are that durable, but just dont get snow on them, and dont let that snow that yuo do get on them melt. No but seriously if you get snow on it, befor you go in brush it off and air dry immediatly just so you lessen the chance of shorting it out. TommyGunner

I don't recommend it but one of our RECONDO students dropped an AEG in the water and fully submereged it. After removing the battery and drying everything out it worked fine and apparently is still working fine. We play here in the Pacific NW (can you say rain?) I've never heard of anyone having a problem with their guns due to moisture. It is certainly a good idea to thoroughly clean the gun when you get home and keeping everything coated with silicon oil is always a good idea.

Thank you! You know I am thinking sometime I might actually need to spend the money on a WWII airsoft weapon even though I told myself not to buy another airsoft gun. But that new BAR is looking pretty good to me right about now.
Merry Christmas to you too!
