Asking questions does not make us elitist. I hope he has a great event and it is bigger and better next year. People put a lot of time and money into thier impressions. Some may not want to attend an event where they cannot wear a full uniform. Being able to just put a piece of tape over the swastica may make some feel better about it and encourage them to come. Me personally if I was closer I'd try and make it and it wouldn't bother me to put a piece of tape over it for this one game. I don't see anyone else in his area trying to put on a WW2 event so him trying to start one up is pretty cool. He's starting slow and working with the rules set forth by the land owner. I don't think we should piss on his parade about it. I just wanted some clarification and I got it and it seems reasonable...Drive on Yogi..lol

With the first events our local group put on there were so many compromises and hokey uniforms and gear that today it is laughable but it was a start and grew in size and authenticity with each year. More importantly the folks who came had a great time and wanted to come back.
The Paintball event they do is an abomination when you look at the videos and I cringe whenever I see it but there are literally thousands of people there and they appear to be having a great time. It is certainly not my cup of tea but it's not my place to berate them either.
I wish him well with this event and hope it is successful and the bar continues to rise to the point where it would be tolerable for me to attend. The venue requires large attendance to justify its use and at this point that means huge compromises of authenticity are required. If our national organization could assure him of adequate participation to demand higher standards that would be wonderful but let's face it we aren't even close.
Maybe someday?
Good luck with it man and if there is anything we can do to support the event with advice or suggestions feel free to ask.

I've watched the paintball videos from D-Day AP and agree about the activity there. It is similar to an Italian tomato festival fruit fight. At least the airsoft milsim uses some tactics and coordination of assets. Check out the videos here for the airsoft event Oklahoma Invasion V that MSE held in May to get an idea of the caliber of play. www.youtube.com/results?search_query=oklahoma+invasion+v&aq=0www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs7VD12gcw8&feature=relatedSo don't be shy, come if you can. I know you'll have a good time.Yogi an I are MSE staff (I'm the CMO). Like fine wine, airsoft events start raw, but improve with time.

The Higgins Boat is the real McCoy. D-Day AP has some mock-ups, but it also runs a fleet of Duece-and-a-halfs, 2 Brit APCs, a half-track, buses, a bulldozer-turned MLRS unit, a defunct Huey, several crashed airframes, 4x4s, a few pontoon LCIs, and a couple of villages. It is a very neat AO.

This game has been shelved, 10 players does not an OP make. MSE will do a WWII game when the demand is there, right now it needs to grow.
If you have any questions, comments or just want to converse...PM the MSE Directors, Claymore & Frosty.
If you have not already received your refund I assure you it will be in your account this week, PayPal has decided to take an extra few days to process the original transfer. MSE apologizes to those owed and are still listed on the roster until payment is sent. Email registration@milsimevent.com if you need further explanation. Thanks, MSE Directors.

Our very first MOA Pickerel event was cancelled in "07". Perseverance usually pays dividends.
