I would recommend taking the flag off the arm, that was done by the 82d Mostly.
Carbine pouches look hokey being a Captain with an Thompson.
I believe your knife is wrong.
The spade on your helmet is quite over sized. Maybe half that size is more common.
From what I was lead to believe, the "Stitch Knot-See" thread is for kit AND background, so the tape, pretending to stab a guy in running pants etc does not belong. I only say this because other folks with very impressive kits have been removed from this thread because background wasn't quite "there". Lets keep the bar high gents!! -Matt

Hello as was stated above the stitch nazi section is for pictures that have the correct kit and background also the points that Voodookid88 have stated i agree with, there are NO pictures of 101st troopers wearing invasion flags on d day this was only done by the 82nd airborne the 101st used the american flags durring operation market gardan but those were the armband types not the patch kind, also the knife that you are useing looks to be a m16 bayonet whitch is wrong for ww2 Also to add you should NEVER wash your uniform in a washer drying it kills the dyes and makes it shrink the effect that is gained is a white faded uniform that doesnt look the part, the best way to wash any of your gear is to hand wash it and then let it hand to dry if this is not done then if can make your m42s totally white!
Your impression does need some work but has great potential i would reccomend that you: Get new m42 reenforced with out american flag remove the carbine pouch from your web gear and get either a smg ammo bag or 5 cell remove the captians rank from your helmet and resize the spade get .45 mags for your .45 pouch
if these things are done then you will have a totally correct kit and totally look the part

Faded uniforms aren't necessarily incorrect for Normandy, as a lot of the soldiers tried to boil out the anti gas paste that their M42's were soaked in. See here for originals examples: (scroll down to Cecil Simon's) www.101airborneww2.com/uniforms.htmlHowever, an unfaded suit is still preferred, and more correct, plus yours appears to be excessively faded. So, as mccallion said, try to get a new suit, and ditch the flag.

I imagine a uniform could get pretty faded after heavy combat use. One thing we reenactors often don't take into acount is we use our uniforms maybe 10 times every year. A real soldier was using his for months on end 24/7 through rain and sun. But yea I wouldn't wash that in a machine anymore.

Good point sgt tom But the jump into normandy was the 101st first combat jump so the troops equipment wouldnt be to old unlike the 82nd whitch had been fighting since afrika and sicily
