i would not use green gas because i did on my garand and it was like a flame thrower with no flame. thats what it looked liked but what happened was i blew a piston which are not replacable

Your Marushin Garand will eventually break using green gas. Not a question of "if" but a question of "when" Tightening all the screws and using loctite to hold them all in place will help a great deal and there is a full tutorial on here about how to go about it. Red gas would dramatically shorten the life of your gun and is really not recommended at all. Any site that suggests you can use red gas with it is doing you a real diservice. One tip that should help you wiyh performance is somewhat counter intuitive but you'll get greater accuracy, range and performance out of .43 gram 8mm BBs than the .34 they come with.
I love the Marushin gas Garand when they are functioning. Good luck with it.

Mechanically identical in terms of function. However with the shorter barrel length the lighter BBs will robably work better than the heavy ones. (The longer barrel allows for greater pressure build up with the slower initial velocity of the heavier BBs)
Also The later Marushin "export" models were supposedly improved but I've heard just as many horror stories of them breaking as the earlier ones.
