The War Department puts on WW2 and Vietnam airsoft events and are always looking for folks who are looking to participate in such events. www.thewardept.org

it heats up when events are scheduled and in the planning stages. their focus recently has been more on Nam events but if the interest spikes once again they will no doubt do some more ww2 games. long Winter, Carentan and Jump to Destiny are epic.
The prolific increase in available ww2 weapons should help as that was always the main challenge.

Hmmmmm? That doesnt sound very inticing? actually we want very much to ramp back up a WW2 event and Jump to Destiny is a classic. We have found a couple super appropriate venues for such an event but have to again do up a couple "aircraft". That would work. modified panel trucks. june july are the usual dates. even if the war dept site seems dormant, leave your contact information with scott j or remf.

I am following closely the success of the squad tactic event being run by the Regiment down in California and wonder if that might be a simple template for reintroducing some WW2 themed events in the NW? The idea is, run a series of tactical squad challenges that test and train techniques through live fire phases using an integral opfor. The squads being run through the missions recieve a briefing and a time hack and carry out their assigned missions not knowing what to fully expect by way of enemy actions. They have a chance to plan and rehearse prior to crosing their line of departure. In this way even a relatively small turn out (couple dozen people or even less) can result in a great atmosphere, wonderful immersion, lots of trigger time and can be held in a relatively small area with fairly basic logistics. it would take advantage of the abundance of great props on hand and available staff support.

The hope and intent to reintroduce events in the NW is still present but nothing looming immediately. We contact you if something comes together.

It exists sort of. With work distractions and family commitments the usual hosts (myself included) just havent been able to focus the energy and finances needed to arrange, plan, promote and hold many events. Unless you have put ona game its hard to appreciate how challenging it is. Literally everything in your life becomes secondary to the event if you have any hope of it being a success.
