I've been looking at the AGM MP-40, but the reviews I've seen say it's pretty low quality and will break pretty quickly. Are there any other AEG's out there for under $150? Thanks.

I have an AGM and it's great. The low cap mags are a pain though, but the gun is solid. I did drop mine on the buttstock when it was open, and it bent the screws that secure the shoulder rest on the connecting bars, so after every so many uses of the stock I have to unscrew the screws because it becomes impossible to open it unless the screws are taken out and put in again. If I wasn't so lazy I would get two replacement screws and it would fix the problem. Other than that I have no problems with the gun. Also for mid cap mags ehobbyshop Asia has a King Arms 110rd each 5 mag bulk pack for $35. Shipping is expensive from hong kong, so get more stuff with that order to save money on shipping.

I also dropped mine 3 feet above concrete when I was field stripping it. I would buy the AGM, as long as you're for more realism than magazine capacity. I give it a 3/5 overall, fps 4/5, magazine cap. 3/5 (1/5 with standard mags) and quality 4/5. A good gun for Germans.

I heard the AGM MP40 was pretty good for the price ... I don't own one yet, but I planning on getting one ...
Check out KeithHPOW's youtube review:

I've been looking at a gun for a bit more and that is the MP44. Is that a pretty solid gun as well?

its a good AEG, though it has a terrible total black finish with a neon orange color stock, and some (my sample included) have accuracy issues and a worthless hop-up. ALso worth noting, these guns fire VERY hot, in the 400-450 range (there is little spring consistency in china guns...)
If you can fix these issues, its a very good AEG and replaced my previous primary, my AK, when i picked it up.

The AGM MP44 is great but it is very heavy. And the wood stock is very orange, so wood stain would fix that. I recommend it highly.

I picked an AGM MP-40 up from a swap meet for $30 (I am a poor man, can't but new) a few days ago, I LOVE mine. Feels like a tank, the mags are expensive and have a low capacity. I plan on using it only for WWII airsoft simulations, as a daily skirmish gun I despise it lol. Just a fun fact the DE MP40 is no good, well duh it is $12~$15. I have had three for some movie props but thats about all they are good for.
