Die Fusilier Zug
“Die Fusilier Zug” is a group of hobbyists dedicated to a historically accurate portrayal of soldiers from a German army Fusilier battalion. we aim to keep our impression as “genric” as possible to fit in no matter what scenario is being run. While authenticity in both Battle drill and uniforms is our goal, we do not forget that this is a hobby and that we all seek to have fun.
While located in Northern Delaware, we have members as far south as Northern VA.
Uniform that we prefer you acquire first... M43 Trousers M40 or M43 Heer tunic M40 or M42 Stahlhelm Water bottle Breadbag Belt and Heer buckle (belt lthr) Suspenders (Infantry) (lthr) Bayonet and bayonet frog (Lthr) Metal Gasmask Canister. M43 field hat (w/heer insignia)
The weapon we Suggest is the MP44/STG44, there are several makes available. You will want to have Mp 44 Ammo Pouches, it is not incorrect to only have one pouch.
We are not Anti Camouflage but we request that you concentrate on base equipment first and consult with us before purchasing Camo items ( for instance, Tan and Water may be more appropriate for us then splinter smocks)
If you need help or advice, we will be happy to help you...PLEASE, contact us before you order anything from ebay... it is better to pay a little more for something then to be stuck with a cheaper incorrect piece.
For those starting out, we do have some "Loaner" gear that we can help you out with.
If interested, please contact me via PM

May I ask why you don't include the M-36 tunic, and M34 feldmutze? They were both worn throughout the War.And I know a lot of guys who have them.Me included. I like your stance on camo as well, but you should include splinter smocks as well. You look like you have a nice plan, good luck!

Man I love M36 tunics, and Fusiliers right, they were all used throughout the war. Infact all of them are M36's, just slightly modified, as the Germans never adopted uniforms under the name M40 for example. They are only called M40's and M43's by reenactors and enthusiasts. Standard M-36's are the "tuxedo" of military combat uniforms I'll say.

Reenactors have it in their heads that EVERYONE was issued an M43 tunic in 1943! NOT true!

I don’t disagree with anything your saying, (I have 2 36 coats myself that I love) and of course if someone already had the earlier stuff... so be it... our guidelines are for people who are just getting into reenacting/WWII airsoft. The thought being, for events taking place after Sept 44 we would be portraying a Fusilier Zug in a Volksgrenadier Division, We would like to see latter war coats. We arent saying early war stuff is wrong, just that we would prefer the latter.

I'm not arguing,I'm just saying that even late War VG and even volksturm was issued 36's. The Army and SS issued what was at hand at the time. Be they M36's,M40's,41's,42's or 43's. My advice is to just tell people get ANY version tunic aside from the M44. Every soldier didn't come through the same depot or kaserne, and they were far from uniform in what they issued out. I'm just saying, don't limit yourself!
On another subject,do you or any of your guys plan on going to Ft. Indiantown Gap to do some shopping?

I may go up, but we are kitted out. I did FIG every year since the 80's as yanks(stop going 2 years ago) but it is THE place to get stuff.
I think Jim needs new boots.... has anyone else had issues with the soles on ATF low boots?

No I wasn't saying reenactors thought M43s were issues to everyone in 1943, I was saying reenactors dubbed the manufacturing and simplicity changes M43 or M40, the years those modifications were started. Yes I myself I'm going to FIG next saturday, I'm going to pick up an M43 jacket, wool uniform, cartridge belt, suspenders, haversack, tie, gaiters, trouser belt, Korean war era helmet, and service shoes. My friend went their last year and has a complete infantry uniform. he got his boots for $25, and they are really nice. I know your going fusilier you told me in an earlier thread you'd be at the Luftwaffe barracks. I actually started a thread yesterday to discuss fort Indiantown gap but it got deleted, I don't know why but it did.

Is FIG an airsoft event? Do they welcome or run off discussion of airsoft? Was your post posted in an off topic non airsoft area or was it posted under an events section? All reasons that it might have been deleted. Sooo not exactly a whim.
Oh an PM sent on this Morgan to explain it.

I did post it in the events page. My mistake, I didn't see airsoft only. I don't care it's not a biggie, and FIG is a blankfire weeklong reenactment at Fort Indiantown Gap, PA. Next Saturday is there public battle, where many vendors including ATF and Hessen go to sell their stuff at the "flea market." it's quite possible to assemble a complete impression there, and you usually find originals for great prices. ATF calls it the biggest event of the year. I should have put it in the impressions page, since the main attraction is the flea market. Really looking forward to it, but the snow we've been having every other day in MD and PA might be a problem.

Snow's never canceled a FIG, I remember having to wait for the army to use loaders to clear out the battlefield drop off point and us plodding through knee deep snow... and of course one of my greatest moments... Running through the snow, having a frozen layer give way (while running full speed), sicking up to my thighs and doing a perfect face plant into the ice.... in front of the entire company. Man... the event used to be like Christmas for me )

But it's not the event, it's the highways. My friends taking me and he had a horrible time last year when they closed the highways because of a suprise blizzard, and it took them 2 extra hours to get their and instead of arriving home at 3 he did so at 5. So if there's snow, there's no "go"

So if there's snow, there's no "go" >> WHAT blizzard?? I was there for 4 days last year, and it didn't snow once.. If you're going, take your time and be safe. No sense risking your life to go shopping.
