The clips fit comfortably in cotton bandoleers and are easy enough to get in and out of them. My preference in game is just use your pockets. Remember they load 30 rounds so three or four clips is really all you probably need (provided you have a couple of the speedloaders handy.)

Didn't someone else already find out that if you shave off the sides of the base plate of the mag, that the ICS mags will fit into the standard cartridge belt?

Didn't someone else already find out that if you shave off the sides of the base plate of the mag, that the ICS mags will fit into the standard cartridge belt? Sounds like it would work. Wouldn't this make it easier to take out the magazine then?

You can take the entire base plate off by removing one screw. It's still a tight fit into a cartridge belt but at least it fits.

The rubber bayonets flop around rediculously and any hard shaped bayonet (even ABS) would really be unsafe so its probably a good thing a bayonet doesn't fit. In my experience, the M1 bayonet doesn't flop around a whole ton and in certain situations it can add to a look one might be trying to accomplish. Besides that, they can still be used as "fighting" knives or if you want to sneak around.

In spite of the tone of the comment I like the field works knives and have both the bayonet and the trench knife/ brass knuckles knife. When rules allow it and when done responsibly knife kills are actually a cool gameplay element. You really have to know and be comfortable with the folks you're playing with however! Even with the baseplate. Unscrewed and removed altogether the ICS clips are too hard to slide into and out of the Garand belt pouches easily. This is absolutely not a big deal. I will check to see if the clips are easier (or harder) to unload with the base plate removed. If so it would make sense to remove all but one of them which you can keep for appearances.

With the base plate removed (one screw and then slide off) the clips (though snug) do fit in the 10 pocket belt pouches. I was surprised to learn they also are easier to remove from the ICS Garand. The look is unfinished and distracting however during gameplay this is probably not a big deal for most people. Certainly no less attractive than the 2ndBat assortment of clip adaptations on the M14 conversions. One could apply resin paste, sand smooth and finish this base surface for a cleaner look but most folks would find that uneccessary. I will no doubt do it out of sheer boredom leaving one unmodified clip for wall hanger, photo op, display purposes.
If so I will catalogue the process and post it in the DIY section.
