Probally becuase they are just trying to get the shape down without worring about the color yet... You see a lot of plastic work like that.

The white plastic Garand you see is a foam mule. Needless to say a long long way from even a prototype. Obviously I really can't wait for this to come to fruition but obviously I'm not going to hold my breath. Yikes I sure wish they were further along than that!

The Greaser is my next purchase. I don't care how long it takes.
Geez, when I was in the 2nd ACR we would take M3A1s down to the range and burn up a case of ammo.

Yes it sounds like it will be ideal! Hopefully it will be able to take upgrades easily. Nonetheless I can't wait.

Santa, I swear I've been a good boy...I'll even sell my M16 to prove my faith...
ICS, damn you, this couldn't have come out BEFORE I built a M1903?

There have been many many lengthy discussions about the challenges with creating an AEG with a top loading clip. I for one am thrilled this company decided to compromise on this one very minor detail and is proceeding with this AEG offering. I can assure everyone I will be first in line for this rifle. It will be fascinating to see what their final product looks like. Its amazing what a group of whinners we tend to be as a group. We whine for over a decade about getting more WW2 offerings and when they finally come out we complain about "Wish it had a high cap (or low cap) or "batteries in the magazine" (Grease gun) or too much plastic (ICS Grease gun) or too high of FPS. (Cyma MP44) Or "now we're going to see too many of the..." It's a wonder anyone want to accomodate us. I'm hoping the mags will hold somewhere between 16 to 30 rounds and that they will fit in the garand belt pouches, look reasonably cool and provide a nice finished appearance at the base of the rifle when inserted.
If none of that holds true I will still be thrilled. Thanks in advance ICS! The only intolerable will be if it is unreliable or lacks durability or so mishaped or miss sized as to be be distracting.

With the exception of Fusilier who never seems to be happy about anything (LOL) aren't we all? This rifle once out if reasonably authentic and reasonably affordable will change everything (in my opinion) It, along with the other recently made available WW2 main weapons will make WW2 airsoft viable as a hobby. This has been my hope for literally eight years now.

@ 2nd Bat: I totally Agree, And I personally think the "There will be to many of them" augment is just ridiculous. If there were more options available you would get more variety, not the opposite.

So I was on the ICS Facebook page and asked "any new updates on your M1 Garand" and they replied with "are you going to be at Shot Show?" I hope this means their M1 Garand prototype may be there!

The grip looks a bit thin, I hope the wood is really strong. They pushed back the release date because they are ~revising~ it, that means it should be reliable. I'd rather have it functioning and released later than a lemon released early I really hope they sell those drum mags too

Gawd I hope you were joking about the drum mag, otherwise the comment is soooooo numb that banning you from this thread is not out of the question! dumb statements like that, even in jest, might be taken seriously by the chinese builders. go into the G2 tent and suck in a few deep breaths.

AHEM* Attention ALL Chinese Airsoft Gun Manufaturers! Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT Put a drum magazine on an M1 Garand! That will be all, Carry on. p.s. even if the garand was being sold with a drum mag available, anyone dumb enough to buy it would most likely be instantly shunned for farb-insanity. Thatss like taking a classic 67 mustang and saying "hey! you know what this needs? BIG A** MONSTER TRUCK TIRES!" completely idiotic

But hey! isn't that how most projects are anyway? Nice, I have a friend down the street who has a '65 Mustang, very nice cars. I can get my permit in only a few months, I want to try to get a 60's Pontiac GTO and fix it up. The GTO's made past '69 I guess I really never liked the way they look. Another friend of mine's father is actually putting together a Ford Triumph, really good with cars he's actually a member of a pit crew

It's been mentioned above already. Drum mag is for durability testing.
