If you have not already, check out sacairsoft.com, We have a very large ww2 group of both US and Germans. Although not super active at the moment, we are there none the less. Hopefully this spring or early summer we'll try to get something together.

Marin Headlands is mostly national park land. Can you play there?

There is a spot in between the actual headlands and Marin City. A good 40 acres of private land that we have been playing on for years. Heavy forest with steep hills and valleys. We built at least one big trench up there and a couple fox holes. Have been playing paintball and airsoft for about the last 15 years up there. No real props, so it would be mainly a Hurgten forest style battle. This is a great fall back spot. We have to keep all airsoft guns bagged up when we start the march to the field since it involves walking by some apartments. We also park our cars at a shopping center and carpool to the drop off a few blocks away. I am loving the Idea of another field though if anyone knows of a suggestion.

On the rare occasions I actually go out and play airsoft it's usually in the national forest up I-80 or Hwy 50, east of Sacramento. The forest service people are usually accomodating as long as you don't bother people and use biodegradeable BB's, and don't burn the forest down. Bit of a drive.
Do you know the land owner of the Marin place? I worry about playing on places where "We've always played here." I'm an old fart. Old farts worry a lot. ;D

Don't personally know him,but it is currently owned by an off shore Japanese man who bought the land for 2.5 million a couple of years ago. He wanted to develop the land but has not been able to get the permits. So this is renegade airsoft on private property. A fifteen minute hike up a steep hill keeps people and authorities away from the playing field. I am down for the place you are talking about too though. A bit of a drive I hope is no more than 4 hours and that would be fine. As long as we can start by 10:00 am

The Cimmerian club holds a lot of their games at several sites in the Sierras. It's about 3 1/2 hours from S.F. We also had some games at Boggs State Froest in Lake County. About 2 hours from S.F. There was some unpleasantness with another group a couple years ago but you could talk to them. There's camping both in the state forest and the national forest.

i think boggs is completely shut down to airsofters, like said, thanks to another group. idiots. Well, I hope WW2 events start becoming more popular in NorCal, along with some namsoft. I've got a pretty good group, but, we're USMC, so, lol, until we find ourselves some IJA, we're S.O.L.!!! LOL

Boggs was a great place to play. Nice pine and oak forest, and no poison oak. Unfortunately it's heavily used by mountain bikers, horse people and hikers, and it's not that big. Doesn't take much to get banned when you've got innocent bystanders reporting the stupid things a few jerks do.

stillidie, how'd it go? I'm still trying to get my vc/nva to do IJA for WW2 and CCF/NKA for Korea. We're leaning on some KW re-enactment/mil sim for the winter time. Mostly based on Post Chosin/Jamestown Line, 1st Recon Co.. Come spring, hoping to have sme IJA.

Game was fun, although we only had three allied players to 7 Germans.Had to mix up the teams a little but we had good fun. We are planning another skirmish for new years day. Most of us all have the day off, it's just getting up and not partying to hard the previous night.

Ill let you know about the next one we will host. We had a small game with 5 G.I's vs 7 Germans. The G.I's did quite well for attacking entrenched German positions. By the 2nd round, the G.I's were able to capture the German entrenchments and hold them until the end of the day against German counter attacks. I will post pics asap. Sadly, no one from the WW2 AA community could make it out. I'm hoping a few will make it out for the next game. Planning for May in either Petaluma or Marin.

Planning another WW2 event for April 28th in Petaluma. Flat field, no poison oak, RR tracks, small bridge, wrecked boats along Petaluma river. Thinking Market Garden type scenario where airborne troops are assigned random numbers to coordinate were they will start on the field, this will simulate the drop. Allied troops then have to take and hold bridge and other key points and hold them against counter attacks. Check out "Storm Infantry" profile on facebook, and "Petaluma field survey" for an areal photo.

Interesting looking machine guns you built their. Looks like m60's with browning 1919 barrel shrouds on a MG42 AA mount. Are you in the bay area?

Yes, joebakka, I would also like to see at least one other WWII airsofter at SF Bay Area games (sorry, but Humbolt is too far north for me to travel!) I've been attending games for two years, all over the area, including Fort Ord, Ivy Ridge, Ben Lomond, Area 48, MikeForce, and Ukua's way out in Galt -- and have yet to see one single WWII player except myself. I do get a lot of nice comments on my loadout, though! So -- if anyone in the SF area is reading this, let's hear from you and at least we can be a team of two in the midst of all the modern guys ...

To all who are interested....I will be hosting a WW2 themed event on New Years day in Marin City, CA, 94966. Are group consists of G.I's and Germans and most of us are about 80% plus on the impressions. we usually get around a dozen or so to come out to these events, but are always trying to get more out there. This game is an annual event that we do every New Years day, since it is easy for most of us to get the day off. I will be planning some latter games this year also in Petaluma. We meet up at 9:00 am in Marin City, by the Starbucks, RAIN OR SHINE!

One of these days, I will organize a convoy to travel down to socal. It's a long drive, and that would mean leaving at 2:00 am, but I will not rule it out. For all those in the greater Bay area, meet up by the Starbucks in Marin City at 9:00 AM, 94966. Rain or shine, this event will get muddy! late notice I know, but next weekend my friends and I will be hosting a WWII skirmish in Petaluma. We will play from 9:00-4:00 with breaks in-between games. This event will be located off of Landing Way in Petaluma along the Petaluma river. This event is scheduled for Saturday the 19th of October. You can email me at zombiekilleroftheweek@gmail.com, or text me at 415-302-7644 if interested. This will probably be a small game with no more than a dozen combatants. We will also be hosting an annual New Years Day event at the same location on January 1st from 9:00am to 4:00pm. This location is mainly flat with RR tracks, small bridges, structures, open fields, tress, tall grass, shrubs, and abandoned vehicles.

I'm actually trying to get an interest in WWII airsoft started in the Bay Area. I have a German impression, and have been able to muster up a few other WWII impressionists and got others interested in buying a kit.
