After several attempts at fabricating a cradle to go into the magwell of G&G M14 to feed shotgun shells to a Garand conversion, I decided to go another route. The idea is to get 30 round marui shotgun shell to feed to the gun. If necessary, converted back to use original magazines. I removed the magazine hook/spring guide and charging handle spring from the upper half of the gun. Cut a hole in the stock. Drilled a pilot hole for a feed tube. For starters the shotgun shell gets push onto a Marui M16 magwell feed port. Which is the bottom half of a 2-piece hopup. I am going to fabricate another magazine feed port out of steel with tube that enters the Magwell. A simple feed spring will then connect the tube to the gearbox/hopup feed port. A bb retaining spring will be added onto the feed port to keep remaining bb's from falling back out. A metal plate will then cover the original magazine well. Also adding a ramp to the charging handle end. This way the charging handle can be bulled back to EJECT the shotgun shell, and another quickly inserted. Top view, you can see most of the 2-piece M16 hopup From the side the shotgun shell is barely visible. ///ed///

It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

this is the way to do it because the mags are so dependable.

I made progress on it a while back but have been too busy to post pics. Thru it togather and it feeds, have not test fired it yet - that's how busy I am...way too many projects going at the same time... Metal plate firmly holds the BB feed port. And the plate is attached to the gun's stock. BB's zip up the spring feed, to a piece of clear poly tubing, which can be removed, for regular mag use. Nice clean profile. Just have to add a beveled block to the charging handle to help push the shell down so it can be removed. ///ed///

Very clever Big Ed. Cool approach. I especially like the notion of ejecting through the use of the charging handle! Keep us posted. Obviously a plate could be positioned over the mag well area which would further the Garand illusion.
