oh don't but the set, buy what you need first like the hat, tunic, pants, boots, and webgear. Buying the full set is a waste of money and there's alot of things you don't need in it.

I would wait on the m40 coat you wont be needing that till december of next year the earliest. Work on your basic field gear and tunic set up first then work on getting a helmet. Towards winter of next year start looking into your winter set up such as the m40 great coat

Just a word of advice from someone who has been there done that. Trust me you wont be running in a greatcoat in anything higher than 20 degrees.

O im sorry I thought you meant the m40 great coat not the tunic. Sorry trench coat threw me off. Either the m40 or m43 will be correct for a regular infantry impression. Most people use the m43 for mid-late war impressions.

Yea you won't really be needing a Trench coat very often. At the Front is fine for everything except their Tunic and Trousers which are just Sturm made. If you ask what Sturm is, it is just a company that a lot of people sell products from. The products are decent quality but At the Front charges to much for them. At the Fronts other products however are their own brand and are high quality.
For Tunic and trousers I'd suggest buying the Ant-z Military brand. For a Tunic either buy an M35(early war), M40(also early war but used late too), or M43(mid-late war).
The other things you'll need is a Helmet M40 or M35, wool knit undershirt, a belt and buckle, amunition pouches(depending on your weapon), canteen, canteen cup, and canteen cover, Y-Straps, Mess Tin, M43 cap or M40 hat, Low boots and gaitors or Jack boots. That will give you your basic impression.
You can get the Ant-z Tunic and Trousers from Hessen Antique or 1944 Newsletter(he has good prices if you email him about it).

No problem, I edited my post and explained what Sturm is by the way.
For the boots for now I'd get a pair of East-German jackboots. All the affordable reproductions, such as Sturm, At the Front, and all the Chinese brands are pretty junky. A good quality Reproduction German boot costs $250-$400, which is out of most peoples price range, including mine ;D.

Low boots are much less expensive than jackboots. I payed $140 for a pair (I already had a pair of gaiters). They aren't bad quality at all.
