I was inspired to make a we m1 garand, converting it from the we m14. Is it possible? Pros and cons? clip ejection?

Everything is possible, depends how handy you are. Con for me is that it's gas.

If you have to ask, you're obviously clueless. The WE 14 has classic and common challenges as with all Gas Blow Back rifles but works marginally better than most. Like preferencing a blind date by saying. "For a fat girl she doesn't sweat much". The power system derives from the magazine and of course it is an M14 large box which is expensive and complex. Shortening it to a flush mounted clip that works would be extremely challenging and odds are wouldn't be large enough topower both the BBs and blow back enough to fire even 10 rounds. If it somehow did...how many folks would be willing to pay the hundred dollars or so for each one that would be required to justify the build effort? Imagine buying the WE base rifle...doing the conversion and then needing to spend a grand for 10 , 10 round clips?
Hmmmmmmm? Pretty limited market I should think.......
Naturally if you want to take it on I'm all for it and would be thrilled to see positive results.

Yep what 2nd Bat said. I wouldn't count on getting the magazine to work well though.

Hi, I have been thinking of doing this conversion also. instead of using a clip or magazine as the gas source what about making a gas cylinder that runs the length of the fore end which fits neatly into the stock under the barrel this would enable a greater capacity of gas and even possibly Co2 this would give the rifle a greater shot capacity

If you are comfortable rigging the plumbing for such a project absolutely knock yourself out. Be advised the reports on this guns consistency and reliability has been nearly as spotty as the Marushin gas blow back which means it just sort of awful. Obviously someone clever and skilled might be able to improve it in that arena along with the conversion efforts.
Keep us posted. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I have heard good things about the WE M14. Maybe I just read the wrong reviews.

thanks for the offer, but I already got one... used for 300 but full auto doesn't work and it jams a lot which is weird because I heard most don't. The previous owner must have been some crazy guy lol but the m1 garand parts costed 200 and I need to do a lot of wood work

I just got mine in the mail and it blows the Marushin away. Performance is better in every category, and even better than my tuned Inokatsu M4.
Your only hope of making it look like a garand is to find a way to build a small mag that protrudes a little to hold 8BBs and to serve as an expansion chamber.
This would need to be run off of CO2 HPA to work and really wouldn't be practical

By every report it does work far more relaibly than the Marushin M1 Garand (At least for a while) but that's like saying for a fat girl she doesn't sweat much. Unless someone is extremely gifted and has great tools and resources trying to swap the magazines over to a flush mounted clip or replumbing the gas system isn't likely to be a happy marriage or produce a MORE reliable gun with a weapon that is marginally skirmishable if you're lucky.
I'll be delighted (albeit shocked) to see someone succeed in the effort. Naturally this statement is thrown out a gauntlet to encourage someone to prove me wrong which would be awesome.

2ndBat, the WE M14 would be a gun to truly defy your expectations. It certainly worked a lot better than I thought it would.
The fat girl analogy is a little harsh for the WE M14...with a little work and $80 worth of parts it can shoot as well as a well upgraded VSR-10. It also has enough gas in the mag to fire something like 70 shots, so cool down isn't an issue (one of my big issues with the M1)

If someone does this I will be more than amazed. I know five people with WE M14s and most have not had good luck from a reliability perspective. They say when they work they are awesome and my experience with the rifle echos that. Unfortunately that isn't a consistent event. Certainly not consistent enough to be a decent skirmish weapon although it's quite possible some are far better than others.
Taking a persnikety system and attempting to home build a modification and expecting better results is dubious at best.
