So, how is the sights going on the gun. Uhhg Well it seems that Olga at the mosin factory decided to solder it on then pin it on then smash and solder the pins again. The adjustable upper part came off but its the base that is attached so ridiculously, I BROKE 2 DRILL BITS TRYING TO DRILL OUT THE PINS!

UMMMMMMM. What was the point of posting this? yes i see the zeta labs mosin and frankly I think it is a horrible recreation. For one the wood is completely the wrong look, 2 there was not Brass on the real mosin nagant, 3 The fps is terrible, 4 the magazine system is applesauce ty and finally the gun feels very fake to anyone with prior experience with a real mosin. So please I don't need a 10 second video of a crappy zeta labs mosin sniper. thank you

Ease up on the guy please.
At any rate you can buy the front and rear sights cheaplly should you not be able to get the vase off.

The wood can always be refinished. As far as brass goes honestly its airsoft, real guns aren't made of pot metal and aluminum either. Besides it has more steel parts then the majority of airsoft guns out there. I believe the FPS problem can be solved with a new spring. I can't comment on the magazine system as I've never operated one. I don't see why it would feel less realistic then any other airsoft replica out there.
I haven't owned the rifle but it seems you are being pretty harsh on it.

Ya your right well im just a little angry because the ww2 airsoft guns are pretty low scale in terms of abundance and amount produced. So if you are gonna begin production of a gun do it right, especially with its price tag.

They take AEG springs. The most extensive reivew I have read lauds it as being a very good skirmishable gun. I also was skeptical of it at first but it seems to be a winner.

So if you are gonna begin production of a gun do it right, especially with its price tag. Yes its always good to do it right in the first place. However switching out the spring, and redoing the stock are pretty simple and easy projects. Compared to converting a BAR-10 into a Mosin, which is extremely time consuming. After converting a BAR-10 into a Mosin and upgrading the internals you'd probably be spending $300. From there it just depends how much your time is worth to you. Also keeping in mind a BAR-10 will never look as realistic as the Zeta Labs model as the porportions are off. Anyways good job with the conversion it looks nice so far.

OK. Yes, that sounds about right as the commercial version (the Zeta Lab) has a weird finnicky loading procedure, but yours loads in mags. Yours is much more combat practical. I sure wish I had $350-$400 but I don't . Anyways, let me link you to a hilarious Y!A question that I saw once answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090221234043AAyU5bFJust don't let people try and lowball you like this guy for such good work.

remrat, that is a first rate job. It came out looking great. If I could make a suggestion to you regarding the sight. Drilling out those pins would be nearly impossible. Use a top notch pin driver and drive those suckers out. The front pin is no problem, but that rear pin can be tough. I once had one I could not get out. What I did was put a block of steel at the rear of the sight and then whacked it with a 2 lb hammer. It took a few blows but the pin finally sheared and the sight popped right off. I will be interested in seeing your next two guns. For my money your gun is as good or better than the commercial version.

I agree. Your rifle looks great. If people had a realistic idea of the time and effort required they wouldn't be so crass as to make snide remarks. I only extend credibility to people who have built them themselves and typically they are the ones most likely to be positive about other efforts. When they do have suggestions they are just that, remarks intended to enhance or improve the project.
If you are actually able to sell these for $350.00 and they are as good as they look I wish you well. Thanks for your contribution to the hobby.
