This might sound like wishful thinking, but over at cop9gun.com they have that mg42 listed. I shot them an e-mail and this is what I got: It's from AGM. It's expected to be US$460. (Shipping is NOT include.) Only available for pre-order ! 2011/5/7 Nathan Kronschnable <nkronsch@yahoo.com> Is this MG42 the AGM version of the gun? I was hoping it wasn't ultima, as 2000 USD is a little too much for my liking. By the way, how much is it going to cost and how much would shipping be to the US? Woohoo!!!!

The B.A.R was available for pre-order and that never happened. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I wouldn't hold my breath. I'd expect a long wait at the least. I hope I am wrong though .

Like SgtTom said, We all hope it comes out in August, but previous experiences shows that expectations are hard to meet. It's OK to get excited, but make sure you temper your expectations in order to manage any letdowns in the near future. There has been times when guns were announced for pre-order, given release dates, and then didn't get released or were a considerable late to market. It's great news that it's being planned, and I think we all hope that the schedule and price are accurate.

UPDATE:
The MG42 is available to RETAILERS only!
I sent an e-mail to Airsoftpost.com, Airsoftgi.com, and airsplat.com to the wholesale department asking them to stock this in their store so we can buy them! Only, now the price worries me. Over 400 wholesale is going to mean around 5-6 hundred retail!

Maybe we should all email them, because the more requests, the more likely they will have it in stock

agm tends to mass produce it's products so I don't think we should be worried about numbers YET but first find out if it's even coming!

Well, 500 dollars, this is cheaper in some cases than make your own screatchbuild mg42. And it would look more realistic than your own product. This fact makes me sad, cause I already have started building mg But I searched on the internet and there were few rumors about producing electric mg42 earlier, and all those attempts failed. So, maybe it is one more unsuccesful attempt?

Sorry to rain on the parade but expect the price to be around $900 - $1200 at the low end for the MG42. I requested a quote from them.

It better be good for that price. The AGM MP44 wasn't all that cheap.

If A&k can make an M60 for 400 I can't see why agm can make an MG42 for the same price.

Alright, unfortunate news comrades. The date has been delayed because of a "design change". Sounds more like it might have been another complete renovation of the mg42 just like it was in 2009. August 1st is no longer the date.

OK, I just got the quote for the MG42 and unfortunately the new release date time. This is the reply "HK$3,200. Expected available date is 1st to 2nd quarter of 2012 if you order (wholesales volume) today." Now this is WHOLESALE plus shipping to the USA is HK$1800.00 per item so total WHOLESALE would be $650.00 US. After markup your looking at around US$1000.00 that's if the market holds till 2012 NOT. So the price will go up.

Urgh... That Just like destroyed my chances of a Mg42 when you guys get it do a review D: don't feel too bad, (I'm assuming your doing a Russian impression in saying this) but mg42s weren't too widely picked up by Russians

This really is too bad, was looking forward to it.
But really, if it is an AGM product, it might be better to save the extra $200 and just get a VFC B.A.R.
